It looks great, but I fear it will have the same fate as so many other sequels. The original was an accidental masterpiece, and a great movie despite being filmed as a straight to DVD job (I think), thus, they will try their hardest to recapture the charm and awesomeness of the first, but fail. Miserably.

Anyone seen the Family Guy Taken parody? That's quality gotta say tho I loved the first film and this looks good so will probably watch it. Oh and Maggie Grace mmmmmmmm....

Regardless of the mixed feelings about this and how it could be a rehash of the first film, after reading the synopsis for this sequel, at least the basic premise makes sense and still makes me look forward to it, i.e. Marko's father getting revenge on Neeson's character. Looks like that criminal world is bigger than previously thought and a lot of **** it bound to happen.

Well, I just got in from watching it and...
It sucked. I thought it was absolute crud... Taken was an accidental masterpiece, and as with every such film, when a sequel is created, it sucks. Sorry to disappoint, but I can't begin to tell you how much I enjoyed the first movie, and the sequel didn't even come close.

Hmmm.
It wasn't the worst film I've seen this year but it wasn't the best. It's just a switch off and enjoy film. They take his 'skill-set' a bit too far at times and there are a few silly mistakes like the daughter on her phone when it say 'no service' clearly at the top but it 'was overall alright. I'd give it 5/10

I watched it last night and thought pretty much the same. I didn't feel cheated out of my money, but wouldn't make an effort to watch it again.
Seemed a bit heavy on the Apple product placement too, I mean the odd glance at an iPhone is ok but it was almost blatant in it's "Waynes World-ness".
First film was superb though IMO.
I want the tiny spy-phone he has stuck to his leg, anyone know what it is?
