Borderlands 2 release date confirmed ( Launch trailer also )

If you haven't done this hack then it wont be set to read only. I don't know why the keys haven't registered, but you could always use this hack and use a couple of keys, then uncheck it again so that you haven't lost anything.

TBH the loot you get is very disappointing anyway. I played through twice and only got about 3 orange legendary drops in 130hours play time . I hardly got any purple loot either. The stuff you find in the chest is stuff that should drop randomly or be available to buy throughout the game imo. The chest should have legendary items.
I've only found an orange grenade mod but everything else I have including 2 purple weapons and two blue sniper rifles have been from drops?

Check everywhere, weapon chests are often hidden.

well finally found a decent legandary!

no, the gun recoils up quite a lot if you're not that far back as well, it recoils like crazy at 200ft, but yes not at close range ( obviously) , but if so you shouldn't be using a sniper rifle anyway, secondly; a sniper rifle should never fire in burst fire mode, only semi auto at best..... that gun is not a true sniper rifle, it's technically an Assult rifle.

the last game was more sniper friendly simply because you had far fewer AI at such close range, in fact, many of them dont spawn until you walk right by, especially in a large bandit camp !

this 2nd game plays nothing like the first, the camps here are much larger, we had nothing like this in the 1st game, these bandit camps are more like villages/ towns, you have to travel through them, this is not an area to use a sniper rifle, the AI here is dense, heavily armed, many more badasses plus finally bandits in the sky, it aint nothing like the 1st game at all, plus of course we have powered armour as well.

this 2nd game is chalk and cheese compared to the first

Are you sure you played the first game?
There are many examples in both games of large camps and a lot of close quarters areas. Sledges Safehouse, Old Haven, Baron Flynts place, etc. Some you could keep your distance in like Old Haven but areas like Sledges Safehouse were very close quarters.
Bruisers also don't feature anywhere near as much in this game (though I've not done much PT2 so maybe that changes) and they are the bandits who tend to advance forwards with ranged weapons. Some of the Nomads do the same thing but they aren't exactly fast moving like the Psychos. The biggest OMGWTF enemies are probably the Rats which suck serious ass for trying to headshot them if you don't use Deception. This game definitely has the bigger variety of enemies and it is harder but that is in no way limited to using the Sniper Rifle. Hell, judging by the amount of damage people are saying everything inflicts in PT2 the Sniper Rifle is probably the way to go.

Unless you're trying to shoot midgets in the balls from extreme ranges, in which case you'll be getting screwed over by your weapons accuracy more than anything, burst fire rifles do not recoil that much. Yes they jump up a little which makes them **** and a waste of ammo but nowhere near enough to require that much compensation.

@MissChief - Not the best of solutions. Doesn't really help when Zer0 has a skill that increases Critical Hit Damage by up to 40% the longer you stay scoped either. As for oranges. Other than the Nuke esque launcher which dropped at far too low a level to be useful, the only other drop I've had is an orange grenade mod that made it into a baseball pitch which was pretty good.

Would anyone like to speed up my 2nd playthrough... Add me on steam, I'm right near the end only need a few more story missions, Its must easier/quicker with more people. Thanks. :D

yes deffo, but it's ok if you have loads of ammo around you, because it is handy especially against Buzzards.

to fire it properly against badasss bandits without wasting ammo, aim for their Balls first and the final recoil shot will be a head shot, do not target their head...ever, because you'll only hit them once ! :D

the trouble is all the other single shot snipers i've found are too slow, the best guns are deffo in the 1st game, better looking too...in fact, all the guns are better in the 1st game.

this 2nd game isn't really a sniper game anyway, there are too many of them plus they charge you at close range..

the worst of all are those cannon rifles, the ones with yellow/ green/white graphics, even the 6000 damage ones are useless, or that rubbish 3 barrel gattling, just total junk.

the best is a sniper backed up with a high damage machine pistol, ( twin barrel 6000, it kills everything) or a Torque shot gun, or an electric pistol.

Well I don't agree, I've got three burst sniper rifles so far one normal, one fire and one electric and all hardly move when scoped.

The weapons in 2 are way better than in 1. I used the keys at level 10 and level 20 and got purples both times that were really useful but I do think it is just luck. Also had 3 purple drops in 20 levels but nothing orange yet but unsure if they don't apepar until the higher levels.

I also disagree with you on the gattling gun, I have a purple one that is great at killing stuff that isn't a robot.

It feels more like a user issue than a weapon issue to me.

Just to voice my thoughts.

Defeated Jack with a friend. Was a bit confusing that exactly needed to do as I kept on hearing Lilith say to jump to higher ground as the lava was climbing up. Guess it something like a timer or some sort. The final boss wasn't that hard compared to the complex when Lilith is hold, I was expecting a 20 min battle and a few 2nd winds but not even one.

I'm going through hunter vault mode and OMG. I'm playing with a friend on co op and he's started a new character while I'm using my existing character. Its still hard as. I've picked up some awesome weapons so far and I think I might have to use a golden key (hacked) to get further into the game without getting annoyed at it.

Not at all it is disappointing that you have to do the story again though. I've managed it without golden keys have some excellent weapons.

Are you sure you played the first game?
.

yea for about a year !!!!!!, these areas you mention (Sledge's safehouse, Sledge's mine etc) are nothing compared to the 2nd game..the bandit camps in 2nd game are much vaster

after you finish the 2nd playthrough the whole game levels up to 50/ 52, but the side missions are still at level 42 etc...... so you'll play a level 42 side mission but have level 50 AI..... this is great, loads of loot, i'll do the Tiny Tina mission again

guess what i found....``Sledge's shotgun, the legend lives on``..... but this version is 40 % accurate and massive damage, it has S***.... the original had 0% accuracy..... 220 damage, this new one is 5600 damage

i also found a 13000 damage fire sniper, with slow burst zoom ;) plus a Hyperion shotgun that fires like an assult rifle, it's accurate too, this gun is very high quality

i'm finding loads of weapons in this 2nd playthrough after killing the Warrior, i've found loads back at Opportunity.

you know that boss robot with 4 legs, you get loads of them in Oportunity, the one that doesn't move but fires Nukes/ lasers, well Sledge's shotgun kills it in 4 hits, you just run up to it with your cloak on and let rip, those used to take loads of damage back at level 48, most odd !

playing after you finish is great fun, you can sell so many weapons

no not at all, i can kill alright until i use those Assult rifles, i found a belt fed 5000 damage 100 round ****, it was useless; but last night i found Roland's at level 50, this one fires very nicely indeed, but i've yet to use it; it's the 1st decent assult rifle i've ever found.

it's the one weapon i rarely find anyway..... the Assult rifle, and if i do, they're usually rusty looking or that rubbish gattling thing, i just ignore them.

this 2nd playthrough gives me one hell of a lot of shotguns, probably because i use this plus the sniper only, i also found a massive 7000 damage ``Road Sweeper`` shotty, but this one has Zero accuracy, it kills Goliath in one blast. these shottys will also kill 3 bandits at once if they're standing too close together

yea i've never found a golden key and it might not be worth it anyway, because i dont trust what's inside that box, because if you're after weapons just redo Oportunity/ Tina's mission/ or keep respawning a large bandit camp.

i want to get as much stuff now ready for the DLCs, i'm now after high value acid snipers only/ acid SMGs. it's interesting to note that Jack is a robot.... because under his damaged mask i saw a face like ``Terminator``.

Finally managed to finish Borderlands 2! Unlike the last one, I actually liked the story throughout this game over the last one.

it's interesting to note that there are about 6 other vaults on different planets throught Hyperion's Tin Pot Empire, this tells you we will be getting Borderlands 3 ( after the DLCs)...... i hope

Not that surprising Mal with his Hyperion role

in the General Knox DLC the boss of Hyperion was an 8 year old boy

so i have no idea what's going on there, unless this boy was just a superior officer, a Field Marshall or something :D

if you go to youtube it'll show you how to kill Terramorphous, so i'll try again tonight, but he doesn't drop anything like as many guns as Crawmerax, i'll need the right waepons too

No, they aren't. There are very few true close quarters areas like Sledges Safehouse in this game. You almost always have room to back off or shoot from mid-long range.

Given that the Mechromancer has been saying something about leaving her ECHO blog on Monday, it will probably be something to do with that?

Edit: Nvm, checking his twitter:
