*** The Official Samsung Galaxy Note II Thread ***

The only thing I'm not sure about at the moment is how they will sell me an LTE device, but without an LTE plan?

At present Orange's best plan is 2gb, but I think I'd be needing more. The last guy I spoke to said maybe an LTE plan will have more data, so I guess I'll be waiting to the end of the month to make my decision.

Im somewhat Confused here, do all note 2s have lte and we are just waiting for it or is there a hspa+ version and an lte version , and how can I check which one I have

Im on orange and it's showing EE If that make a difference

If you have the phone now, then it's the 3G version.

If you have bought the "LTE" version directly from T-mobile or Orange then it will be 4G LTE capable.

The LTe version is not (currently) available any other way than through T-mobile or Orange, on contract (and they haven't shipped out yet anyway).

Good stuff Adrian, I have been recommending this phone to everyone. When you show them you can take a snapshot of google maps, annotate directions and email it to people their jaw drops!

I'm just trying to work out if you can annotate something higher res than a screen grab? 1280 x 720 isn't exactly tiny but being able to zoom into a higher res photo and make very detailed annotations would be perfect.

Alright cheers. I have the 3g version then

there are 2 versions (not sure how you can check) ^

4G will say LTE on the box and have this settings option:

I have done just that; S3 LTE on a 3G plan- I will go over to a 4G plan when they come out.

Not sure whether my 18months start from when I upgraded or when I start 4G.

Any news on the 32/64GB variants?

I'm sticking with O2. Any point in waiting? There's no news anywhere about the larger variants coming any time soon, last time I checked with T-Mobile, Orange, Vodafone, T-mobile, O2 on Thursday/Friday.

Opinions?

Difference is iP5 has high res panoramic - upto 28 megapixels.

I'm fairly sure the Note can't do this.

Panoramic photos have been in phones for many, many years now. It's nothing new.

Edit - For example, here's a review from 2008, phones were doing panoramas and it wasn't regarded as a special feature even back then. Admittedly the highest was 24MP, but I'll allow them that difference.

fair enough but I didn't say it was new, just that the Note2 doesn't have that option out the box.

Some phones will, some won't, but I get what you're saying. I think the original point was that it's being hyped up by Apple's adverts like it's some kind of new and amazing development.
