*** The Official Samsung Galaxy Note II Thread ***

Just for fun. People I know show their phone pictures on their phone or through the TV, you would need to have a grid of 13 1080p TVs to display all the pixels in one of those shots.

(Yes I know, you can't have a grid of 13, it was just for fun.)

Any news on the 32/64GB variants?

I'm sticking with O2. Any point in waiting? There's no news anywhere about the larger variants coming any time soon, last time I checked with T-Mobile, Orange, Vodafone, T-mobile, O2 on Thursday/Friday.

Opinions?

Nobody commenting on my post? :(

Wow, really? On the LTE version?

I'm gonna wait until when they expect to know about their 4G data plans, which will likely be a few days before the 30th :(

Bit of info:

Being ready for a T-Mobile upgrade I was on the phone to them first thing at 8:30 when renewals department opened. The LTE version is now on sale, however the woman did say that it could take 7-10 days to receive this phone. Didn't poke further to confirm what stock levels are but after the bother I have had trying to get this phone over the last few weeks (long story involving the cowboys at phones4u) I will take 7-10 days if it comes to that.

Also, no special deal for loyalty. The price on the web is the price you pay to upgrade.

Should receive a text apparently once my order is dispatched but looks like this good drag on a bit yet.

I just called t-mobile with the hope of upgrading. Got through after 40min wait. Only to be told, they dont have any further info on this and that someone would call me back...Aaaargh :D

thats where they have lost a customer - I might be the only one that doesnt like it ? lol

It comes out cheaper to get a new line with them and some form of a cashback, or just cheeper from p4u or them a like...

will do a table where I will compare all prices and will see if it will come out cheaper to get a new contract or go sim free and lets sai giff gaff...

That is odd. As soon as I mentioned the Note 2 to the upgrades department they tapped away on the keyboard and had the details there.

Took payment for the handset for presumably their system is geared up for this is if it let them proceed this far.

As mentioned by others in this thread; T-Mobile reps don’t appear to really know much about the Note 2. Plenty of conflicting reports of possible early releases, warehouses full of them and now an apparent 7-10 day wait.

Would be interested to know if anyone else manages to order via T-Mobile today and what story they get.

Why oh why are people obsessed about 4G?! :D

It wont be great indoors, WiFi is everywhere now, 3G is more than fast enough for web browsing, SD cards are so cheap that cloud streaming becomes silly imo, battery life will suffer (proven on ALL other LTE phones) - let it mature before jumping on board :)

The above is my thoughts - don't shoot me for them ;)

Haha I'm not. Just sticking with o2 now. Much cheaper + a better deal. To be honest it's just remarkable that you can achieve speeds as fast as that, but it won't come to my City this year, maybe late next year.

It's so true, when your at home everybody uses wifi, in an office I guess you just connect to wifi too. Shame I'll only be getting a 1GB data plan though. Will miss my unlimited one :(

I've just been told by T Mobile:

"You will definitely get a better deal as an existing customer.

They are coming in tomorrow now apparently though so I will get back to you once it is in"

Lets see if I get told the same tomorrow...

Ahh such a funny moment at work. Equal parts humour and satisfaction.

First person to see the Note2, also often the most outspoken member of the office and staunch Apple advocate (even though most of it is generally in jest)..

"What the **** is that?! Ahahaha look at it! How do you hold it to your face?!"

Not 30 seconds later..

"Actually.. wow.. those blacks really are black aren't they? That screen is amazing.."

30 more seconds pass.. other 5 people in immediate vicinity huddled round for a demonstration, lots of ooh and aahs, suddenly no-one laughing, everyone genuinely interested and impressed. Further compounded when I told them just how long the battery lasts on it.

Give one of these to anyone for a day and they'll be fighting not to buy one at the end.

I was told they still couldn't confirm when it was going to be available for existing customers, I'll try again tomorrow if that's what the guy on the end of your phone said. Sigh.

Really am confused at how I managed to upgrade today then.
Is it just a case of you are holding out for a better offer from them or did they not even offer the phone as an upgrade for the same price as a new customer?

The rep made no indication that this was a new line I was taking out. Should defo be an upgrade.

I called just after 8:30am and they said that they didn't have any stock and they would give me a call back either this afternoon or tomorrow when they receive this elusive stock of Note 2s.

Pretty disappointing that they have a severe lack of knowledge over something that you'd assume would be big business for them.
