*** The Official Samsung Galaxy Note II Thread ***

Hi, i am looking to buy a Samsung Galaxy Note 2 sim free / grey, preferably from a UK retailer to receive quickly.

Found Amazon UK @ £522, i have seen people mention to purchase from Amazon.de but currently with conversion it comes to £490+ so not as good as the savings others have seemed to of made purchasing that way.

Anyway before i make a purchase, tomorrow most likely. Does anyone know of any better deals currently available for the sim free version. It would be much appreciated.

Many thanks.

Hi there, setup your trust (ocuk messaging system) so I can send you a message about a deal on the Note 2.

Well, 8th day of ownership for me too, and I must say I think the phone's stunning (previous phone was a HTC Incredible S).

I'm really impressed with:
  • Battery life. Despite heavy usage, it lasts a minimum of a day (which is excellent for such a tech packed phone).
  • Case and screen, both of which appear to be highly scratch resistant. My SGP Oloephobic screen guard's arrived this morning though, and I'll still apply it.
  • General responsiveness of the phone (although it's certainly not entirely stutter free).
  • Multiscreen's a genius feature, however it'll be more useful when more apps support it.
  • S Pen's handy for getting more creative (but I think I have a problem with the top right corner, which was unnoticeable until I used Sketchpad yesterday).
  • As far as I'm aware, there's no way of configuring it as you could with the Note's S Pen. I've tried switching from left-handed to right handed and back, to no avail.
  • Sound quality and volume. Having the extra volume, over my Incredible S, means listening to podcasts in the shower is now much easier.
  • Jelly Bean's excellent (however I've ditched the stock browser after not being able to work out how to quickly insert a comma, question mark or exclamation point).
  • Games looks sharp, and run smoothly.
  • Connection is fast and stable (more so than previous t-mobile contract, despite using in the same post codes as my last phone).

Things I'm not so impressed with:
  • S Pen / Screen Calibration issue (although this is most likely local to my unit only).
  • One handed operation is very difficult, but this is to be expected on a phone with so much screen real-estate.
  • The time it takes to insert punctuation when using stock keyboard.
  • Lock screen options are a little limited for my liking, but I can always use 3rd party launchers and lock-screens if need be.

Providing that sheer mass isn't off putting, I don't think anyone could be disappointed. Samsung really have delivered with this one.

l agree with most of this. The phone is simply brilliant. Screen is lovely too, love watching stuff on it.

just so you know, from amazon it wont be the 4G version, or at least not 4g supported on UK networks.

Hi, yes i realize that is the N7100 model and it is the N7105 that has 4G. But i have read that the 4G version will cost a fair bit more and also i intend to use a giffgaff sim and there is no confirmed date for O2 and LTE 4G, as far as i know.

can't you get it from 02? i got mine for 200 with 24 easy instalments of 10.50 :D

includes minutes/texts too for a spare phone :o

Hi, can you please link me to the relevant deal you got as i have not seen anything similar when looking. Thank you.

shop>pay monthly phones>choose the note 2 in the drop down > should be there

but i can't see it anymore. same basic deal but for 400 now, not 200

edit,

yep, can't see it anymore. maybe o2 realised it was WAY too good of a deal. instead of 200 + line rental, it's now 400 + line rental

Yea i found the post referring to that deal as JAMAL said but now it does seem they have put the handset price at 400 which is unfortunate.

Used copilot today for half an hour in the car. Battery only dropped 6% within that time!! The Note 1 used to drop about 30%

The o2 deal disappeared pretty quick, I think only tomos from here got it in time. I dont think anyone is getting a better deal for a few months at least.

can this actually turn into a thread about the note 2 now? not where and how to buy a note2 and how annoyed you are at tmobile.

anyway here is another drawing

really loving this phone so far, the screen is amazing.
the only one thing i hate which has got nothing to do one the phone itself is how greasy screen protectors get, i've got a spigen ultra crystal on there and it just seems to constantly be smudged and have like that effect you get when you accidently get water on a screen

nice! wish i had some skill like that :o

i don't use a screen protector on mine. always took them off after a few weeks on prev phones. i have found though that my greasy fingers don't seem to show up on this screen as much as on my older phones.

which app is that drawing done in btw?
