*** The Official Samsung Galaxy Note II Thread ***

From the unboxings of the N7105 I've seen, it has an LTE logo on the box as well as the back of the phone.

This version is currently available on contract from Tmobile UK and PAYG on Orange, the latter of which is showing both white and graphite LTE versions on their website but out of stock and no price.

No other UK supplier is selling the LTE yet, and the fact that Expansys is showing preorder for 32gb and 64gb versions, but not LTE may or may not mean they know something we dont.

So if like me you want it on 3's One plan, and hoping that it can be used next year on 3's 4G network, and 800mhz and 2600mhz bands on other networks, then you are in limbo. We may have to buy it on the international market sim free, or on Orange PAYG and unlock it.

What do you mean 'no other Uk supplier'... Is there anywhere i can get a 32GB and 64GB version right now?

not right now, only available as pre order on expansys, it's also on handtec listed as coming soon. Doubt the retailers will give you much info either. I don't think these are LTE versions

Ok I would like to buy Galaxy Note 2, when I go to a page such as: http://geekaphone.com/compare/Nokia-Lumia-920-vs-Samsung-Galaxy-Note-II It shows that galaxy has 64GB, but when I go to a retailer, they seem to stock the 16GB version.

My question is does anyone stock the 64GB version and can anyone recommend me a site/url where i can get the cheapest deal with unlimited data? (or 2GBish)

Took mine off charge at 8am this morning at 100% and it is just now down to 5%, I've been out and using it all day. Checking the stats it is showing 6hrs 36m screen time. It can't be said enough times, the battery life is simply phenomenal.

Very similar to me, the past two days 6-7 and a half hours screen time. I just absolutely love this phone. Hooked on some games and watching tv shows and youtube the videos the quality is brilliant and i've actually preferred to watch some things on the phone instead of a laptop that I have 5 foot away from me.

As a first time Android user are there any must have apps?

Also, what are the benefits of rooting? Would it wipe out what I have on the phone at the moment?

How many are waiting for the 32GB models? Or is it just as good to just stick with 16GB then get a good quality SD card?

yep i was waiting for the 32GB, but now i don't think i will, it could be a while yet... im thinking of getting the 16GB LTE and stick a 64GB microSD card into it, that be 80GB in total, although i know the apps will have to run off the internal by default.

Not 80GB total. The Note 2 16GB has 10.1GB Total internal space, The 64GB sandisk micro sd card has 59GB Total space.

You can install the apps on the internal, and then store all pictures + pictures taken, videos + music on the micro sd card.

If you really need more space for apps you can root it and use some decent app moving program to move the whole app. Or you could just try app2sd but in most cases it barely moves the whole app.

Really though, the only large app files are the games, and if you have a few decent ones the storage space used can add up fairly easily. I think I'll just not store games I never place since I'll only put Modern Combat 3, Nova 3, Asphalt 7, GTA 3 and Real racing 2 on. Only other game I play is doodle fit and that's tiny! Other apps won't take up more than 1GB in space, and the ones just listed take up a max of 4GB/5GB. So fingers crossed, I think I'll be okay.

I'm just waiting for the 29th to see what nexus devices google are releasing before I decide to order my note, and if any news on the HTC J butterfly for international markets comes... although a 5" 1920x1080p screen with a miniscule 2000mah battery and the s4 pro processor will mean awful battery life, and it'll most likely not have a micro sd card slot in nexus form. I also prefer the 5.5" screen of the note 2 over the 5" of that htc. We'll see - 3pm UK time Monday 29th.

hey all, finally posting after lurking on and off for a few years.

Been following the drama with t-mobile regarding updates, sucessfully ordered mine over the phone on fridayand recieved the confirmation text acknowleding my upgrade which also states monday delivery within 30 mins of upgrading.

I was slightly concerned this morning as i remember reading here people recieving texts with tracking numbers for delivery. I phoned up t-mobile, the CS rep didnt seem to know what a tracking number was, so after being passed to a different department the second rep told me that mine hadnt been dispatched as they were out of stock. he doesnt know when they will be in stock but expects for me to have mine by the end of the week.

needless to say i am a little peeved, i will check to see if anything actually turned up today as i doubt whether i was given accurate information, if not i am sorely tempted to see if my local shop has stock and if so whether i can pickup from there or cancel my upgrade (distance selling would allow me to do this?) and reorder it in the shop.

Mine arrived as well

I came home briefly to do a skype conference call, and there was a knock at the door. Low and behold - shiny new Note 2. Only briefly played with it though (5 mins).

At last ^ the long wait is over. Must have felt like months that? :D

Small update, mobiles.co.uk are sending me a cheque for £30 to compensate for the hassle and being messed about with the collection of the second handset that never happened until the 3rd attempt. They have blacklisted the second handset and cancelled my second contract which they set up in error, and they are currently speaking with Yodel to try locate the whereabouts of the second phone. It means I get the handset plus contract for under £700 in total over the 24 months which isn't too bad (300 mins, ultd texts, 1.5gb net, ultd browsing).

I also had some issues using the internet over the weekend, so rang up T-mobile as I felt they may have been throttling me, I've heard if you don't go directly through them they may do that? Anyway, it was absolutely crawling at times this weekend ie. 0.05 mbps and that's in and around Manchester. Lo and behold I'm getting over 8.5 mbps download now and over 2 mbps upload. Will have to keep an eye on it over the next few days but I definitely don't need 4G if I get in excess of 5 mbps all the time!!
