Borderlands 2 release date confirmed ( Launch trailer also )

Does anyone know if there is a cap on the badass points? Just started a new char and noticed my individual points have reset but the main score and bonuses have remained and contine to rise with this char.

I'm at 18,000 and odd, I'm assuming there will be a cap at 20k?

"Ancient World Research Cluster" That's just Pandora written all over, isn't it?

And yeah, Rabid Stalkers are loving me gently at the minute, they're nard as nails. Desperately need a decent shock weapon hence my post a page back :p Almost tempted to make a meme picture of a rabid stalker and the text, "That's OK, I didn't want to go up to Magny's Lighthouse anyway."

yea, they're quite easy to kill once you've finished the game, but a real pig in the 2nd playthrough....... the Bloodwing area is flipping hard, because the Badass Skags are a bitch too.

you need a fast firing shock sniper for them and then a heavyweight shotty to finish them off.

Badass Ranks are infinite. Its just set for your account and all the challenges are character specific so you can raise it indefinitely so long as you keep playing new characters.

You get diminishing returns anyway. I'm up to something like 24k Badass Rank atm and most of my bonus' are around the 10% mark with a few around 5-8%

BS Mal, BS. You've been complaining about practically everything and now you're saying that the Rabid Stalkers are easy to kill when they're lvl48-52 with 'a few sniper rifle headshots and a shotgun'? They move like greased lightning so headshotting is more about luck than accuracy and when they facehug me and start biting away the recoil from the hit keeps making my shotgun miss. And this is on my Gunzerker with a 7.5k damage **** TMP, a 5k damage E-Tech Shock SMG and a 7k x18 shotgun. They absorb so much damage its ridiculous. The shotgun can 1 shot Badass Stalkers with a Money Shot but the Rabid Stalkers just shrug it off.

Learn to just disregard everything Mal says, thats what I do.

All seems to be complete BS.

you must be a crap shooter then, because they die ok when i take them on, my shock sniper has a 24 round mag and a very fast fire rate, you let rip and then switch to Sledge's shot gun or the Torque..... oh yea it's hard but no harder than a ``super Badass Varig``... the shock is 22 000 damage and has a 20% increase in fire rate (Zero) it is at least a 10 fire rate, i didn't tell you this; well no why should i, SO dont simply presume that i'm talking BS, this makes you look like a total idiot ok !

the only trouble i ever have in borderlands is if i let the game rise too far above me, or i forget to update shields/ health, but if everything is equal then the game is quite easy....fact !

the trouble is it keeps rising above me even if i do the main side missions, i entered the Warrior area on level 27 and all the rest were on level 30 to 31, so last night was the hardest ever.

have you considered that you dont have the right weapons, because that shock sniper that i rarely ever use, fires as fast as the fastest assult rifles, it's pretty useless against much else but is fantastic against him, it has a dreadful recoil and is useless at range too.

I would go back and quote your posts that say anything but 'this game is easy' but you are clearly in denial so it would be pointless.

The only type of sniper rifle I can think of that fires that fast with such a high clip size is the E-Tech type and there is no way in hell you can fire that with any degree of accuracy at full fire rate. Plus I think it consumes 2 per shot. I can see how that helps to rip its shield apart but please stop acting like they are trivial. Particular when your quoting 2 very specific rare weapons.

The Nitro Stalkers stand at range and let you headshot them. The other 2 types of melee stalkers (Poison and the new Cyclone) are annoying to headshot but don't have as much health/shield. The Rabid Stalkers have probably 10x the shield and health of the other types, a crazy fast attack that screws your aim up and they shift around constantly. Fighting lvl52 versions of those is not 'easy' and I've lost count of the number of times they've facehugged me and my shotgun has somehow done almost no damage to them at point blank.

I dual-wield a shock type E-Tech SMG with a crazy high fire rate and clip size and an automatic sl@g pistol with around 25 clip size and can switch the SMG to a high damage shotgun when its shield is gone. I'd call that 'appropriately geared' for fighting Stalkers but Rabid ones are still a major pain.

i'd tell you how to do it, but then you'd say i'm being boring or writing a diary/ lieing... talking BS and never played even the 1st game.:mad:

ok this is how i do it as Zero, you see him, get the gun out, move closer, throw out the decoy, you then charge at him and let rip at close range... you can still see him if he's invisable because the shield damage shows up quite a lot, you chase after him fire again..... you've now hit him maybe 40 times with 22000 damage, you then switch to a shotgun, you have to get seriously vicious with him, you can not stand back; he'll kill you every time.

this will take 3 attempts or more to work, but dieing 3 times like this is nothing, a BULL****TER has an easy time of it, no i tell you when i'm no good at something for sure, because some areas of this game i cant even win or take 3 hours to do so, so i'm deffo not lieing.

he's dead easy compared to the 5th bandit arena fight, i've no idea how to win this, that's why i've restarted the game as Gunzerker.

no, this is your trouble, you think you're better than everyone else, especially if someone else disagress with you.

Lol Mal.

You have spent this entire thread either moaning the game is way too hard and you are going to quit, or gloating as to how imba you are and everything falls at your feet.
Make up your mind mate.

You are a living paradox, maybe schizophrenic, who knows.

Anyway, started True Vault Hunter mode this weekend with Zer0, **** me, mobs are much harder. Especially at the start when you have gear from the previous play through.
Takes a while to get properly geared up again! Absolutely loving the game though, Gearbox have done themselves proud.

Cant decide whether to grab the DLC now, or wait until I'm max level then hit it.

ok the sniper rifle i have has an odd foreign name, it is 134 000 dollars, it is Chrome plated with a large drum mag, but i do have to say that he has killed me eaily in the past with lesser rifles, but right now it's easy.... its fire rate is extremely high, it empties it mag instantly

this rifle is useless at range/ has no accuracy, you shoot him at 30 ft away from the hip only, you then reload whilst chasing after him, you finish him off with Sledge's S**g

he usually kills me if i miss with the Sledge, he never kills me in the initial attack, he runs off instead !

he runs off turns round and attacks, all you hope for is that you've damaged him enough before he turns back, this takes about 3 attempts.

i have another similar rifle but it fires in a strange way, it's like a solid blue beam of light and it makes an alien like noise, but it deffo fires bullets

it's like a Shock laser beam, it's very odd... this one is chrome too, i have no idea why these are found after you finish the 2nd game and not back at level 48, because at level 48 i was dieing all the time.

against him the weak weapon is the shotty, because if you miss it has a slow ****/ reload time, the black and red Hyperion one is useless, that is only evil in Zoom mode, as Zero i never had SMGs/ assults so i cant say... but the best looks like a 6000 damage Torque, but dont miss... and it's easy to do so.

the last Sledge had zero accuracy but was evil at 10 ft away, this Sledge has 40% accuracy, the last gun is therefore better for him... or the ``Boom Stick`` from the last game, that was also reloaded very fast, i havent seen a ``Boom Stick`` this time around

Im still suffering on PT2, its brutal. Takes an age to clear an area. Not sure if i should struggle through on Zer0 or continue levelling my Salvador through PT1.

Just found that if I have a rocket launcher equipped in my right hand and press gunzerk (dual wield) it replicates the damage of the rocket launcher to whatever weapon is equipped in my left hand.

For example. My rocket launcher does 42k dmg. My shock smg does 2k dmg. But when gunzerkering my shock smg does 42k dmg per bullet (and it has a 135 round mag :D)!!!

Now I assume this is a bug that will get fixed, but it sure is fun killing Mega Super Duper Ultimate Bad Asses in less than 1 seconds I tell thee.

no not quite, yes i moan about the game; i dont actually think it's that good and i've never changed my opinion on this, but that's not for discussing here..... what i said today was, that thing is quite easy to kill compared to some of the rest of it, nothing more.

1... this game is good in places
2....the rest i flipping hate
3....i'm addicted and this i cant help, this addiction thing was the same in the 1st game too

my biggest gripe is that i have to repeat this lot yet again to get Gunzereker up to level 50, why the hell didn't it go from 1 to 50 in one game only, like any other shooter you play.

this 2nd playthrough will be a total *******, about 3 times harder, but Gunzerker destroys them far easier at close range, it took Zero five attempts to kill Mortar, Gunzerker killed him in 10 seconds, he is also deadly if you run at them jump in the air and throw a punch.... Goliath died in two punches last night, so it's going to be quite interesting

...shuush, dont mention it and it'll never get fixed :D he also throws a fire punch, i noticed this yesterday.

well Salvador is miles better at clearing bandits out at close range, you'll always struggle with Zero; especially in the bandit arena fights.

because if you have your skill tree set to sniper only, like i have; then you've had it in a close range melee fight

some bandits are ok, it's when you have 7 rats, 4 Goliaths and 3 Gravediggers at once in an arena, you just die die die and in the 5th arena fight it was even worst than this, i got totally fed up with it and switched to Salvador

it's difficult to have a hybrid zero, you need to be all melee or get some awesome guns. if you look on the gearbox forums there are vids of how it can be played melee only and when you get it and it goes right it's mega. however it isn't easy. if you can chain deception for 7 or 8 guys then camp = cleared. then it's either mop up, so find cover and wait for deception to come back or go punch them in the face anyway.
