Borderlands 2 release date confirmed ( Launch trailer also )

Over all, I'm very disappointed with borderlands 2. Probably my biggest disappointment of the year. That is mainly because I enjoyed the first game so much.
I don't think its really added enough to warrant a sequel and some of the aspects its added I really hate.
This whole shift code ******** is really starting to grate. I want to be rewarded, in game for how I am performing and progressing not If I happen to be up at stupid o'clock glued to twitter waiting to be thrown a bone.
In the first game I received good weapons at what seemed the ideal time but not so with the sequel.
Has anyone received any half decent weapon from any of the red chests?
In borderlands they where hit and miss but they where always something to get excited about but in 2 I have not received one good weapon.
Maybe my disappointment is because I am playing single player and you HAVE to play multiplayer in order to receive loot as its intended. Is this so?
Multiplayer was good but not necessary in the original. Has this changed more for the sequel?

Rant over.

Not correct in many ways. i'm 30 hours in level 23, had some really good drops including purples. However they soon ebcome useless as you level and better weapons etc appear.

The whole Key thing is irrelevant, when you open the box you get anywhere between 1 and 4 things but no gurantee you will need them or they will be that great. I've used 4 keys an dhad 2 great items and 1 ok the rest weren't really what I wanted. Most of my decent loot comes from playing the game which is how it is suppossed to be isn't it.

The keys are a bit of fun that hardly make a difference so don't let it bother you.

I have never played Multiplayer / coop and I think you are getting overworked about super duper weapons, there are thousands of drops and weapons / shields and they don't have to be purple / orange to be worth using. It's too easy to think you are missing that uber weapon because you missed a gold key a nd that is just not true, get out play and enjoy the game and stop worrying about stuff that is so not relevant

I've played for 120 hours and in that time only recieved ONE rare weapon.
Screamed like a little girl when it happened. :D
I suppose they are rare for a reason and finding makes it all the better for it.

Well there are plenty of people on the forums with decent stuff and others with very little. I've played wow to level 85 and never had a purple drop while levelling yet others have had loads, that's the odds but certainly didn't let it spoil my enjoyment of the game.

you also get normal guns that seem rare too, i found a very powerful Torque shotty last night at the Bunker with a zoom lens, plus a 6000 damage fire assult rifle that fires 2 at once.

go to the bunker ( level 46) get yourself killed... retreat out the exit and farm those 4 boxes between the bunker and the Hyperion camp, it only gives you good stuff, i got 8 Sniper rifles... **** assults/ everything, i farmed it for 1/2 an hour, it was brilliant, great shame this wasn't level 50, because you'll find much better gear here for its level than anywhere else in the game, i replaced everything

i bet i can do this somewhere else at level 49 too !!!!

You seem to be missing the point of Shift codes. They're to stress test the servers, not to reward everybody. They dont give out enough codes for everybody anyway. And yes, it's horrible being given free stuff at an inconvenient time. Just awful.

I think they admitted to begin with that Borderlands 2 was more of the same. And thats funny because people have a hissy fit when a sequal is radically different (Resident Evil series anyone?) and now they're having a hissy fit if it's not. You're just never happy eh?

Loot does seem a little more sparse i'll agree, but i HAVE found some ridiculous weapons. I picked up a 7.3k burst fire sniper at 40 and im still using it at 46 with no drops coming even close. Im still lacking an appropriate shield (12k shield, 25k health) but something will drop.

I havent played a moment of multiplayer but there are multiplayer themed encounters. Vermivorous, Terramorphous etc and DLC will likely to be tailored that way. Start adding OCUK to your steam list.

yes, Borderlands 2 is a massive fun game, this isn't a pile of boring Krap like COD....it's miles better, just look how huge it is plus there's still another 3 DLCs to get yet, it's at least 30 times bigger than Crysis 2

Borderlands has faults yes ...flipping loads, but deffo not the gameplay/ guns/ shift codes

i hope they have another Zombie DLC that'll be brilliant, but unfortunately we're on the wrong forum to ask for it.

i'm 46, almost 47, and because im saving so many optional quests the only one open to me is The Man Who Would Be Jack, so i'm off to Opportunity. I dont think i'll make it to 50 before i finish PT2. Is that ok? Not really sure how else to level it up!

Could try helping people on the main quest through coop? farming bosses might be another way (helps if you have Moxxi's XP relic)!

Find and complete Hyperion Slaughter. That's what got me from 47 to 50. Also cost me a crap load in deaths too :)
