Why PC gaming? Advantages over console?

Seems like graphics is the main reason. Tbh I've never experienced gaming on a pc so I don't know how much better it is. Definatley buying a pc though lads ;)

  1. Keyboard
  2. Mouse
  3. Soundcard + Decent headset
  4. 3 monitors
  5. Multitasking (browsing/watching videos etc at the same time)
  6. Customization
  7. Good graphics
  8. Multipurpose

That should be enough for now.

Game on my xbox for the most part. That is where my friends are (well on Live, not my xbox, they are too big n heavy) and its just pick up and play.

I am getting back into PC gaming though, the graphics are FAR better, games are cheaper, community in online games is less 12-year-oldy.

I know graphics don't make a game, but they can, in some cases, make a good game great.

build a decent pc and you wont ever want to go back to consoles. the people who use the argument that consoles are better because they are cheaper are people who have crap computers

Surely that is the point of their argument? A decent gaming rig costs far more than a console, and we all have a budget we willing to spend on something.

Just for most of us here, the budget for gaming tends to be a fair bit higher.

I'm more of a PC gamer.

- resolutions of 1920x1200 not uncommon
- you can take screenshots, record videos
- some games are 'moddable', WoW, Sims, some FPS
- easier to back-up save states (different partition etc)
- computers can be upgraded whenever, consoles only once every ~6 years
- as others said, keyboard and mouse input

I have played some of the consoles too and I liked some of their games. Can't beat a bit of the ol' 16-bit Sonic, Mario Kart and Mario spin-offs and some Final Fantasy that didn't make it to the PC. The main advantage of consoles though I'd imagine, is unit cost.

Finding myself going to the console more and more..
Can play with the gf
Cheaper
Less faff

The negative side
Useless for rts
Less optiins
And in case of f1 2011.. Much worse graphics

For me the main reason I'm switching is the time, I just turn the console on, it'sready to play , no gfx issues to fix, no need to think about a hardware upgrade, whether Ican play with this setting tturned up, etc.

It's a shame but I'm much more busy than I was a year ago pc is just too time consuming

my just turns straight on and i dont have graphical issues, and yea pc's are more money but you get a better experience, its like

console=a normal car that anyone can get into and drive, pretty cheap for what it is doesnt excel at anyone thing and isnt very impressive but gets the job done

good gaming pc= sports or even super car, its more money and does the same job but does it better and is much more exciting

thats how it works in my head

the x-bo x 60 is aloot betta den ps 3 and da pc
the ps3 is aloot betta den x-bo x 60 and da pc
The PC vastly outnumbers the XBOX 360 and PS3 at a ratio of 121243536356367545:2

My issue is I always want to get the best out of what I have, so spend more time trying out gfx settings etc. Then a different game requires different settings. That's where Iloose time
