Why PC gaming? Advantages over console?

Pretty sure you can do all that on the Xbox too.

And I'm also pretty sure that you don't do all those at the same time.:D

I do. Don't get me started on using the web on a console, or the lack of flac playback, or over simplified voice chatting, or switching instantly from one thing to another. I have a ps3 but its really only used for fighting games, the PC is in another league where it comes to control.
 
I don't know why game devs can't implement split screen on the PC. That is one of the PC gaming cons that could be fixed very easily i'd imagine. Now that the XB360 pad works perfectly with most games there would be nothing to stop you hooking up another pad and playing split screen if it was made possible by the devs.

People are not playing on 17" square CRT monitors anymore :p

Because split screen is awful. Why haven't they managed to make use of both of my monitors yet?
 
Thank goodness for the huge delay in the release of the PS3, cos thats what made me start getting games for my pc, then of course upgrading, overclocking etc.

Haven't looked back since ;)
 
Its better because as soon as I've got sick of taking hellfire missiles to the teeth, I can within seconds be streaming some nekkid ladies getting up to no good without my hand even leaving the mouse. ;)

Ass Creed belongs to a 360 pad imo, which is great as I have one for the PC. BUT the prompts are not designed for a 360 pad during gameplay. Utter rubbish on all AC games

Really? You must have some weird looking buttons on your 360 pad. I even had to map them so the colours matched:



All the grey ones appear as that, medicine, hidden blade. When that hidden blade appears on screen it does not show which button to press, just the hidden blade symbol. That is how they appear on screen

EDIT: Unless I am stupid and done something wrong :) Not tried Ass Bro yet but this is Ass 1 + 2 (pic is ass 2)

Well after I played Crysis on a decent GPU & got addicted to warcrack I could never look at a console again, between the mutli functionality & the many different forms of escapism it offers, you can't beat a PC. Plus I can't read the news & scroll through my music whilst playing games on a console pad, the G series keyboard is a new level of awesome.

Well you can scroll through your music if you share your music folder on the pc and allow the 360 to see it. The 360 is even clever enough to lower your own music volume when game cutscenes come in so you can hear the dialogue. Clever stuff that

Ah, sorry, I got confused :). Yeah, it's stupid how they've done it and I can't think of any reason why.

Thank god for that, I thought it had a uber easy setting to change the prompts and I keep putting the games to the back of my library for no reason... PHEW :D

But yeah why on earth did they do that?????????????? :confused:

Console game prices ? Yeah.



But my reason: Mouse&kb, I absolutely loathe gamepads, especially for FPS games.
Only games I can play on a pad are 3rd person ( but worse than on mouse) and arcade games... I'm even worse in Street fighter 4 on a pad than with kb...
Graphics on consoles look dated now, I can't stand anything with no Anti Alias...

Finally, I can't stand optical media, optical media is old **** and should die out imho. Only use steam really (Origins exception for BF3)...

I must admit, console is the more social thing, pc is rubbish for bringing a couple of mates over and game night. On ps3 it's easy to just have a bit of fun in Fifa 2vs2 or so. Also the couch aspect is nice. Though you can set up a pc like that too, it's more work...

I am not a console owner, but have been tempted to nearly buy a PS3 many many times, until I remembered how often I actually play games and how ridiculously expensive ps3 games are and how bad it actually looks.
