*** The Official Samsung Galaxy Note II Thread ***

So after falling flat on my face going to buy the Note 2 from EE can anyone suggest a good place to pick up the 3G and LTE versions from? Preferably somewhere that won't give me any problems with the warranty.

I won't be signing up to EE unless they sort their prices out but I figure the LTE version will be easier to sell later.

I'm buying the 3G version from O2. £479 PAYG.

EDIT maybe not. Spoke to them and they said it would be locked to O2 for 12 months and anything classed as another carrier wouldn't work. :( Guess I'll just have to try my giffgaff sim in my o2 locked iPhone when it arrives. Also, it's £479, but apparently I have to buy a £10 top up, although the web site says nothing of this that I can see?

Better going this option?

Thanks, I'd seen that price on Amazon but it's some company buy-it-right which makes me wonder what happens when you have a problem, the cheapest price I've found so far is digitalrev (don't think they're a competitor?) at £430 but I think they import their gear.

Buy it and root it?

So, dropped my note 2 today and despite having a screen protector and case, this happened.

Looking on ebay it's £250 for a replacement part, any idea where I could get it fixed for less? I'm pretty competent at repairing phones so would do it myself if the part was cheap, but it seems like it's too new for there to be cheap parts available. It's only the glass broken, the screen is fine.

Nasty :(

Looks like you were one of the unlucky ones as it landed on the unprotected part where the case doesn't cover, if it had landed just a bit more to the left it would have been fine.

Shouldn't the case cover all around the sides? My cheap one does that was posted a few days ago on here.

Looks like it :( Really annoying, had to buy a lumia 800 to use as a temporary phone and it isn't a patch on the Note 2

I guess it should: I've had those cases on my S2, S3 and Note 1 and they were fine but maybe I just got lucky

Its not because its new that you fibd its part at high prices. Its simpky because its Samsung.

The N7000 lcd unit is around £200 and the S2 lcd unit is £110.

You simply cannot get copy versions of these screens.

You HAVE to buy an original samsung full lcd unit with midframe for the note 2 or risk looseing the spen use.

Samsung is a brand you must have insureance for.

I bought a case like that at first, but I read that you need full corner protection on this phone so i got a TPU case that covers all the corners. It's a bit thicker but i think protection it gives is worth it. This is another reason why I don't think the official flip case is worth it.

Being picky, the only thing that slightly bugs me is the delay when on standby from pressing the home button to the lock screen coming on. Just needs to be a fraction quicker.

Ah man torture. My dad has just gone out and bought one on a 24month contract. At least now I can play with his and make my mind up finally :D

If I'd have broken a Note 1, I'd have bought and fitted this

This is doubtless available because the Note 1 has been out a while and there's now a plentiful spares supply due to lots of people breaking their phones in various different ways.

As I've broken a Note 2, I'll need this

Both are genuine, and the Note 2 one is far more expensive. So surely that's because it hasn't been out as long as the Note 1?

No that Note 2 screen is missing the most important part... if you buy that say bye to spen function.

Nice find on the note 1 screen.. on ebay.

Wow expensive for a NoteII screen!

For that price you could just cut your losses sell it on to Asda recycle or similar and buy a brand new Nexus 4! ;D
