My Surface for Windows RT Review

One thing I really like about the Surface, and its such a minor thing really, is how easy it is to get new lock screen images.

If you open the Bing app there are some beautiful photos on there and you can swipe left and right between them. If you swipe up from the bottom edge there is a set as lock screen button.

No messing, no cropping and there isn't even any Bing branding on it.

Could anyone share their battery experiences? A few reviews I've seen specifically call out the Surface for having poor battery life, but I think it's very good.

Im on my first full charge from yesterday evening, but as you can image using it hellaloads!, so sitting at 47% with automatic Brightness.
And for example I had it on for a fair but of time from streaming the BBC News etc.

This keeps getting better.

Plugged in my Logitech Unifying usb dongle lil thing and it instantly synced my wireless keyboard and mouse lol.

There are literally tens of thousands of compatible products for Windows RT and is a much overlooked selling point over the competing devices. I think I mention it in my update actually.

One thing, I do actually upload a hell of a lot to my SkyDrive ( used it when I got 25GB free), but for some reaton my RT when I go into "Photos" its only picking up my Phones Camera folder, but on the small square preview its shows all the other photos, and how many files are in it, interestingly I have jsut found its the same on W8 Pc.

Figured I'd add this in here. Tested it out on my HDTV

Netflix and Youtube work, but they're not what I'd call acceptable.. On the device itself it runs great, but the HDMI output isn't anywhere near the quality that I get on the HDMI out from my AMD media centre box

Would be fine for doing presentations on, but for video playback through HDMI, it's lacking.

YouTube for example can drop a few frames every now and again. I would say it was acceptable but not flawless personally.

It just doesn't look as sharp as my AMD hdmi out. I'll try it again tomorrow with a high quality .mp4 file and see what it looks like. I'll sit on the sofa and try to watch a few things, mp4 file, Netflix, youtube, will also test 720p as well as 1080p

It may perform better when the charger is in, I don't know.

I am being very fussy here though, I love the surface! Just pointing out the odd issue that review sites seem to gloss over.

Fitted my micro 64gb sdxc card today, now to handbrake some things onto it!

The only things I really miss are winamp and 7zip
