********* The Official GTA V (5) thread! *********

I'm with SS. There was some flaws in the GTA4 car handing, but the idea was a good one over the Crazy Taxi handling of the GTA3 era.

The 3 Playable characters has me a bit worried, If its done campaign selection style, Great.

I just hope it doesnt swap and change as you play through the game.

Sounds more like you 'need' to play as all characters as each tells a different story along the same timeline but they all crossover at points

The next step up from the 3 gta4 story's in liberty city and similar to films like pulp fiction etc

As far as I could read, you can change between the three at any point. Perhaps the back button might be used, so at any time, you can press it and you'll swap to a different character.

Some missions will feature all three protagonists, some won't.

I'm very excited to see how it'll work. :D

Oh actually I like the sound of that :D

It would have been crappy if it was 3 characters, swapping at set points as the story unfolds. But being able to swap between 3 complete stories and view points sounds pretty cool :D

Would have settled for the crossing of paths similar to RE6, But if all 3 can be swapped between in a somewhat realtime way, Thats even better! Although no doubt there will be some limits to it, cant imagine it'll be an instant swap over, amidst a gun fight for instance.

Kinda disappointed if the ability to buy new safe houses isn't in the game, that was one of my favourite aspects of the PS2 era games, all the other stuff sounds good though. :)

The 3 story lines of GTA4, Lost and Damned and Gay Tony all worked together well. If its something like that then it could be good. A bit more interconnection would be nice rather than the mainly references of GTA4.

If they have scrapped the business property thing like in Vice City then great, as that was just a pain. But if they have dropped buying safe houses all together that's a bit disappointing. With a map as big as it sounds I would love to be able to decide I want a house somewhere and go buy one. The territory part of San Andreas was fun for a bit but got boring after a while. It also meant that certain areas of the map became difficult to go through.

Thank god the RPG and socializing is out though. That stuff almost killed GTA4 for many people.

I agree I'm disappointed with the lack of buying buildings. I really enjoyed that aspect. Not so much bothered by the no character customisation though nor the romance!

As long as they bring back the fun from the PS2 era gta's, improve the car handling and make the default driving camera slightly higher and further back (got sick of having to keep nudging the right stick to see ahead) it might be a decent game.

I can't really pre-order as I'm moving to Canada in mid-March, so if it comes out after I go it'll be pointless to have a UK version pre-ordered. Any news on a specific date for release yet?
