I have the black and quite like it, but I also have a pre-order from Germany, so unless I can get the flashing of a new ROM working with Andy in an attempt to unlock it, I will be returning it on Thurs for a refund and just stick with my pre-order which should get here in about 10 days time

I think I'm going to do a complete 180, I really wanted this phone after it was announced and I was really excited for it. The price, availability and the potential gamble on WP8 kicking off has thrown a spanner in the works. I can't ignore the price of the Nexus 4, so I think I'm going to go for that and have a look at what the 2nd or 3rd generation of WP8 phones bring!

Guys,

I have the black version...My thoughts so far:

1. Very well made - Almost feels metal like in its finish
2. The black is very nice, not a finger print magnet. My friend has the yellow, he commented it looks a bit toy like and not as industrial as the black or grey and the finish is not that great
3. Windows OS is very usable, a refreshing change from IOS and Android.
4. The apps situation is not that bad, it will improve
5. The camera is really very good, no complaints there

I don't know if the 920 has a led indicator on the front panel that lights up if any new content is received?

T-mobile have given me 28.50pm and 49 for phone on upgrade.

They actually said i could go to p4u and pickup a coloured phone but when i went in p4u said they couldn't access my t-mobile details to get the deal t-mobile flagged to my account which is what t-mobile said they would be able to do so I'm going to have to ring t-mobile and find out.

I think i will end up waiting until tmobile can sell the red phone themselves, hopefully not more then a month.

The first hope I have is that the phone will be good as a phone as my iphone 4 is totally pants. Have any of you guys that have the phone had bad phone functionality e.g. dropping calls, not dialling?

from xda

Haven't figured out how i'm going to use it or get my lumia 920 unlocked yet but i'm seeing errors on 1232.2110.1244.3011 using EE firmware for white phone, DC_template_development_v4.bin causes a big .net exception
prd_signed.ffu dies at about 14% everytime you download with a webclient error, could be just nokia resetting the connection

looks like he has the same firmware as well....

This file? :D

DC_template_development_v4

Has anyone tried a Virgin Mobile sim? I know the phone is network locked to the EE group but VM uses the EE network, right?

Also, if you insert a sim - let's say Orange - does the phone lock itself to this network or can you still change to EE or T-Mobile?

Got my Lumia 920 today from Phones 4U, SIM free. My giffgaff one didn't work but i put a virgin sim in and its registered!

Did you not have an issue getting that - I could download every single file apart from that, the moment it hit that file I would get a NET exception error.
What did you change or is it a Win8 issue as that is all I have after upgrading everything?

I downloaded it yesterday without any problem, today it seems I am having the same problems.

This sounds network related. Which network are you using?

I have had zero problems with mine. Solid HSDPA connection.

Glad it is not just me - can you remember which firmware revision it was? Actually it doesn't seem to matter now as we are back to one generic UK version where there were 2 this morning..

That sounds like a good deal - what do you get with that in terms of minutes/texts/data?

Told ya :)

Being locked to EE is a drag but not if you can go on a virtual operator who generally offer more choice.

Not really having any problem with the weight, but the size is taking a little getting used to after the 800.

Ive picked up my 920 today in store at EE

I only went in today to find out info about upgrading it and left with it in hand.

I am on orange and got it on a 4G tarrif, £36 a month, unlimited minutes, calls and 2gb of internet, plus unlimited free skysports package that doesnt use up any of your monthly data which is awesome!

Got a free wireless charger too, but its in white and I have a black phone so if anyone wants to do a swap for a black one contact me!
