Dropped my monitor :/ What to do

hopefully you will get a speedy resolution from your insurance company, but check your level of cover first so they don't go increasing your premium just for calling them to tell them you're a clumsy pants and dropped something. Hopefully it didn't hertz too much.

arrgh beaten on the first pun because I was trying to think of a second one

edit: at least I didn't post that late (prior to Gord's cheeky editing)

:D

Was it the Aloominum model? If so then I feel for the op, as much as the screen burn on my 24" one is a bother, if anything physically happened to it a tear would have to be shed

Yea it was :( It had a new lcd after it had bad LCD burn

Baffles me how a student can afford to spend £800 on a monitor alone :O

I saved up and sold 3 x 24" dells

And next time don't be a dvi and leave it by the stairs!

I like what you did there ;)

1) Check your insurance
OR
2) Take up the kind offer from Devrij if (1) does not work
OR
3) Shell out for a new monitor

The top of a flight of stairs is rarely a good location for anything except a slinky.

Throwing things down the stairs is never worse the insurance hassle. As I found out with my late grandmother.

Call the warranty people and say "THE REPLACEMENT IS ALL SMASHED UP!!"

I feel for you.

Get on to your house insurance, it's there to cover accidents after all

Your insurance may cover this but aspect a hefty excess to be paid. I once dropped my laptop on a solid stone floor so I know how much this Hz.
