It'll play pretty much anything, 1gb isn't a hindrance, had the same amount on my S3 and I could play anything (including 1080p MKV's) with no bother.

I think for now, Google are holding all the stock. Hence all the "rage" that occurred yesterday shortly after they went live for sale.
 
Does anyone use a dock with their Nexus 7???

I know the lack of information concerning the official dock is scarce, but there must be someone who has a third party one that they can comment on……
 
Nahhhh, daydream has been off constantly.

I searched for other android forums and people are seeing the same issue on the Samsung nexus and stuff too.
Annoying :(
 
Can someone enlighten me please-

What is the advantage of getting the 3G model of the Nexus 7 instead of getting the wifi-only one and getting a Mifi contract if need be?

I know that it can be tethered to a phone instead but let's assume the person I'm buying the tablet for doesn't have a phone.

The fact you can go online without needing to carry another piece of kit, apart from that nothing.

Thanks. Just wondered whether I was missing something. Obviously the 3G version is quite a bit more expensive than the 16GB. I figured it'd be cheaper to just get that and a Mifi if I later decided that I needed internet access while out and about. I know the 3G has twice the storage but is this a big deal when you can hook up an external SD card?
 
I was chatting to some on mobilefun's live chat about the dock they're selling (yes, another dock related post from myself) and they mentioned that the N7 has two speakers?

I only know of the grill at the bottom so where is the other one?
 
I decided to buy a Nexus 7 last week. Currently I had an iPad 3 16GB, but due to money troubles I sold it and bought an N7 (and put the extra money in the bank).

To be honest, it's totally blown me away. I love the thing :-) I even stuck it in my coat pocket when I went out shopping for the day haha

Google Play where you can stream your own music is very cool, and Google Now would be quite useful I think when it learns about what I am doing. MediaHouse Pro is also really great when you link it with MX Player. Very fancy at having your own movie jukebox.

Do I need a case for it? The back seems pretty robust and scratch free, is it?

I'd personally get a case, I got an "SD TabletWear Stand and Type" for £15, does the job nicely.
 
Liking the 4.2 update a lot!
So glad about the multi user support too, is there anything more than annoying than disabling Gmail sync etc because your wife wants to use it to browse for cloths etc!!!
 
Could someone please remind me the procedure for forcing
the update on the nexus 7, i think there's a system process
that needs to be force stopped and the cache cleared but
cannot remember which...
