X-Factor 2012

So in reality, no different whatsoever to the point I originally thought you'd made then. Thanks for clarifying.

if having an album out and then going on x-factor (a show i'm sure an 'urban' act like himself probably detests) isn't a sign that there is no market space for an act like this, i don't know what is?

he'll have a small following, of course he will. i know it's not about sales but i personally don't find him new or ground breaking and it would seem i'm not alone as i'm sure i'd have heard of him before if he was something special. y'know, like psy?

...and how many famous artists in the last few decades could we say the same for? Plenty of them have their own signature styles. That is his.
Are you his brother or something?;)
He's sounded exactly the same in every performance - putting the same 'twist' on each track (though occasionally borrowing a style while happy to pretend it was his).

Devlin played the one trick pony last year albeit a different genre and got slammed for it.

He's not more likely to become famous as Maloney is right now.

They really do have good writers, on X-Factor.

When the ratings drop or they want people to talk about the show, boom, a favourite is booted off while some soppy ******** and a bender from Essex progress through the competition.

I'm sure I read somewhere that everyone on the live shows get a contract for the live tour, so whatever happens they're all sorted for a bit. Equally, any real talent that gets "voted" off, will probably have an exclusive recording deal through SyCo, so it's win win for Cowell.

Ratings - good
Outrage - good
Find hidden gem - good

I can't think of a downside tbh.

ITV can't "rig" the phone vote though. I think a few years ago, there was phone vote rigging scandal and a lot of people got in trouble. Fines were also dished out. Since then phone voting is carefully monitored.

I'm not sure why the public voted the way they did. It made no sense to place the 2 best singers in the bottom 2, but it looks Jahmaine has got this one in the bag now.

Of all the contestants, I think the Plan B guy is the most likely to be able to sell records.

Jamaine - I'm not sure. He seems to scream at every opportunity and if he does this on every song of an album, I'm not sure if the public will continue buying his records.

Union J: is there room for another boyband? I'm not sure.

Ryland: I think he will be involved in TV, in some capacity, just not as a singer, as he is pretty bad.

Explain how the writers & team get them booted off with a phone vote please.

Maybe it's the public's game plan - vote off all the good singers and put rylan to win. That would make a mockery of the whole thing.

The album is only available on his own website, he was a start-up band with almost zero marketing or finances behind him, which are both key to promoting albums and selling records. Do I really need to explain basic common sense things like this to people on this forum?

We must vote rylan to win now. Cowell must be going nuts.

I hope this does happen. Vote Rylan! :D

Personally I don't think the votes even matter the £££ goes straight into Cowell's pockets and they put through who they want. I'm sure it's all made up.

It's just a show to milk the public of £££.

Most of the time whoever wins they will be crap.

your man crush on the bloke is now obvious. no, you don't need to explain common sense things to people on this forum. just as i'm sure you don't need an explanation of the obvious fact that there is no market for his act at this time?

How is it any way obvious that there is no market for a guy who can sing and songwrite? Please explain your, ahem, "logic".

because he's not really urban and he's not really original. i'm not saying he can't sing but i'm assuming he can write his own stuff as you've said he has his own album. i've only heard him sing covers. first couple of times it was great, then i realised that he only has one style in his locker. a style which, these days, has an incredibly short shelf life.

there's stacks of people out there who can sing and song write.

he might get a few gigs opening for labrinth.
