*** The Official Google Nexus 7 Thread ***

Yep bought it at the cheaper price yesterday with cashback via cashback site to get it for £174 :)

Got it charged and downloading, loving it.

Hey guys,

My girlfriend presented me with one of these on Tuesday (Birthday present) and I could not be happier. It's brilliant. I was looking to get a 10 after Christmas but really don't think I'd need one any bigger having spent time with the 7. Its a great little thing, so smooth and Android 4.2 has added some great features. I really like the new swype keyboard thing.

Just popped out and grabbed a Sandstrom leather case for it from the purple shirts which I'm actually pretty happy with too.

I'm looking for some good 3D games to play on it at the minute if anybody can think of any? RTS and RPG would be preferred. Currently downloading 'A Bards Tale'.

Cheers.

OTA arrived last night:

4.2.1 OTA files if you want to do it yourself:

nakasi Wi-Fi (JOP40D from JOP40C)

nakasig Worldwide GSM/HSPA+ (JOP40D from JOP40C)

My rooted Nexus 7 is still on 4.1.2, and the build number is JZO54K. Can I use on of these to update it? The last one I used (4.1 update) was "signed-nakasi-JZO54K-from-JRO03D" which makes me think I need another JZO54K update??

if I install the update will I have to root it again? of will it still be done?
If I remember from last time, I used the Clockwork Recovery Mod to update mine, and it remained rooted after the update :). Will update mine again in a few minutes so will let you know how it goes.

Just did mine and i've lost root.. :(

I've tried re-doing it using the mac software I used last time but it's not working this time.. guess I need to work out again how to do it..

Just used Clockwork Recovery mod to update mine and it prompted me on the reboot that I may have lost Root, do I want to fix it? Clicked yes, rebooted, and still rooted :).

Just ordered a 32GB from the phone shop place for £179 :) already have a iPad 4 but I wanted something smaller and cheaper that I could take to work and tinker with etc. one thing I couldn't work out is in the description it says colour is brown but in the picture it looks black...

Is it worth get any sort of rear cover for this? I'm very careful btw.
