Possibly but u never know. This would be a HUGE selling point for this tablet if it had Haswell.

We NEVER get straight conversion of USD to GBP on electronics, ever.

Look at the Surface RT. Thats $499 and £399. $499 straight currency conversion would be £310.

So going off that same ratio as the RT pricing, we get $999 and £798 for the 128gb WITHOUT the touch cover.

Touch Cover is another £99. So your looking at roughly £999 for the 128gb and Touch Cover.

I don't think the pricing on that is too great to be honest, seems to be lots of enthusiasm towards the pricing in some of the posts above, I can't say I feel the same.

That's because you're excluding tax in one and including it in the other, the Surface RT is $499 and if you divide it by 1.5 (conservative exchange rate) and multiple by 1.2 (vat) you end up with roughly the sterling price.

So doing the same thing with the Pro we go from $899 to around £720 so it's unlikely to be more than £750.

You just gave pretty much exactly the numbers I did, only you used the 64gb price of $899. I was talking about the 128gb price of $999.

You just basically repeated what I said in a slightly different way.

Haswell will be far better, it's built around power saving( uses roughly half the power off ivy), but you're looking at around 9months (no official line, but expected mid to late 2013) till the chip is available. Then however long it takes for tablets to be released with them in.
Something better is always around the corner.

That's my guess, with easy 10hr life, unless they drop the weight.
Oh and haswell is meant to be 10% faster and double the gfx power, so still not massive but a nice boost.

It's really not safe to say anything about how much it'll cost after launch. We've no idea how many Microsoft are making or how popular it'll be.

I still haven't received my samsung ATIV yet. Its due in stock on either Monday or Tuesday so I should have it by the end of next week. I will try and give a full review of it when I get it

My local tesco has the Iconia W700 on display. I3 version. Really nice to hold, a bit on the heavy side, but the screen is very nice. Was not connected to the internet, so I could not do much with it.

Although its personal preference, from a usability point of view, I am disappointed by the stand and keyboard. IMO, the whole point of a keyboard add on is to provide comfort and usability for periods of typing. The fact that the stand, tablet and keyboard are 3 seperate items kind of defeats the object. You are really going to need some kind of desk/table.

I am looking forward to seeing a W510 in the flesh. It may not be as big and the screen may not be "full HD", but I think its a much better design than its bigger brother.

I've noticed that the price of Acer W500s has gone through the roof in the last week. Looks like that other tech retailer has run out of them at the £250 price they were punting them out at. 2nd hand ones on the bay look to be fetching £300+ now.
