*** The Official Samsung Galaxy Note II Thread ***

Anyone had any experience with the official case? I am looking for a case (the one above also looks ok), but am worried that the cover on the official case doesn't fasten, so could just flap open if the phone drops. Doesn't look like it offers much protection either.

I have the official flip case, it doesnt really offer much protection to the sides and chances are it will flip open when its on its way down, though I like the way it protects the front of the screen. The real gripe is using the rear camera, you have to hold it like book and use

Hmmm sounds a bit pap and rules the official case out!

If anyone is looking for a cheap but decent hardcase i got one one of these today and i like it a lot, it's made of bead blasted plastic so has unusual texture for a case and doesn't pick up finger prints and the case fits very well also.

It looks to offer zero protection where is matter the very most though, on the corners.

trust message sent - I have that case :)

Doe sit protect the front? By that I mean does the case protude past the level of the phone on the front-side?

Scenario being if it were to be dropped face down, would it stop the phone itself hitting the floor if it were dropped parallel?

Kona786, I would have definitely taken it off you but I just got the case off my mate, he is using a pouch atm and prefers it so I took the nillkin off him. It is exactly what I was looking for. It adds some grip to the phone when you hold it, adds very little bulk/weight and looks like it does offer some protection eg. slightly raised edges on screen side. It also looks nice, he had the brown/coffee colour which I think goes very well with the grey note.

hmmm i seem to have a problem, I installed chainfire 3d as i wanted to try a tegra only game. When i installed the driver from chainfire 3d and my phone rebooted its now stuck on the Samsung galaxy note 2 gt-N7100 screen and i cant get back into the phone. its just stuck on that. Any help? I think i might have to flash this as its just stuck with that. Never flashed before either so i have no idea how to do it. If this is the case and i have to flash i mazwell try a different rom but reading up on how to flash them it says i need clockwork mode on my phone but if i cant get into my phone how am i supposed to get that on it?

Im trying to flash a rom back on but my phone isnt showing up on my computer now so i cant copy the zip over? How the hell do i install the rom on the phone then if i cant copy the file to the phone. It normally shows up on my computer and when i plus in the phone cable i can hear the sound but it doesnt show up . I looked under devices on control panel and under my phone is has a ! in a triangle and says device cannot start.

OMG...is that how much the screen will cost
unfortunately not insured.. i just cant believe how easily it cracked. it dropped from around 2ft i.e. just slipped out of top coat pocket..
still in shock for the price of the screen!
i wonder how much fitting will cost!

The current price for the Note 2 @ my repair shop is £225 for nee lcd unit.

Sorry to hear yours is broken

So, has anyone tried any roms yet? There are tons over at XDA but I have no idea which to try to be honest.

I had no choice really as last night i seemed to have bricked my phone installing the chainfire 3d driver. So ended up having to wipe and factory reset and flashing a rom. I used the omega 7.3 rom and its pretty damned fast. Stock appearance but smoother. Quadrant went from 7000 max to 8100 max. It a good one to try if you like the stock look and things but want a faster rom with some of the rubbish removed.

Yup Omega 7.3 here - loving it so far :D

yeh it seems nice so far. Did you install one of the themes or just stick with the stock omega one. I was tempted but it was late by the time i sorted my phone out

i was abit confused though even though i did a full wipe and everything my pictures and music were still on there when i looked in omega how come contacts, apps ect were all wiped but pictures and music was still there.
