UEFA Champions League/Europa League 4/5/6 December *** Spoilers ***

First time in the CL Group Stages that an English side have failed to win a game. Well done Chity, money well spent.

City smashing all the records in their long illustrious 18 month history in the Champions League, first English team to win..................................not a single game in the group stages,

hashtag MASSIVE

We look so, so ****. The whole squad needs a massive shakeup, there's so much dead wood and so many players who are nowhere near the level required of them. I dread to think how much money we're wasting on the likes of Chamakh, Squillaci, Gervinho etc. Ramsey doesn't look anywhere near as good as he could be either, even though he's young he doesn't look great at any single facet of the game.

The squad needs some serious investment and a lot of players need to leave within the next season or so, our performances this season have been utterly pathetic to say the least. Toothless in attack and utterly dire and disorganised in defence.

What we need is the whole squad ripped apart, keep the players that show some fight and get rid of the others buttttttttt that won't happen as Wenger has all these rubbish players on long contracts and high wages.

As far as Wenger is concerned the squad has great fight and quality:rolleyes:

Every year Arsene doesn't win a trophy his coat gets longer...

Is that just playing badly or not being in Europe?

That team was so poor. I just imagined that Arsenal will assemble a team like that for the next 10 years, filled with uninspiring youth and players who stayed on their massive contracts because no one else wants them.

The game was lost, we looked utterly crap, and still he only made one of two subs he had left, and then it was with 7 minutes to go. We could have actually played 3-4 more youths from the start, they may have played better than guys who sit on the bench.

Someone above said guys like Chamakh get no game time and don't get to play with the reserves, its the worst of both worlds. I've mentioned it before in regards to Macheda, he was playing every week with the reserves, its not ultra competitive but its better than nothing, he came into the team looking half decent and got some crucial goals. half a season later he's been on the bench rather than playing reserve games, when he gets the rare game, its not 3 months of reserve games followed by 15 mins in the first team, its 3 months on a bench, then 15 mins, and looking vastly less sharp and way less match fit, because he hasn't been playing.

Rotate the bench Wenger, let some of these guys get a few games under their belt in the reserves so they have at least some chance of performing when you do finally give them their 7 mins in the league or cups.

Ramsey though is just useless, he's been completely hopeless ever since his injury, and though he showed promise before that, it was with a much stronger team around him, without those better players he's under more pressure with the ball and he gives it away so much.

Gervinho, Ramsey, Rosicky, CHamakh, what did we learn by playing them? One is awful, one is just bad, one can't last a game and one is so far from match fit its unfair to judge him, not least as he got none of the ball either.

Throw in 5 youngsters who are hungry, have something to prove, and see what happens, what happened tonight was a waste, a complete waste.

And despite all of that DM, which i agree with, Arsenal got through and City didnt. The record books will be kind to Wenger and cruel to Mancini.

TBF tonight wasn't a total disaster, our recent form makes this result look a lot worse than it actually is. Even if we topped the group we'd still face teams of similar difficulty and at least most of our first team got a rest so they have no excuses for the weekend.

As things currently stand we'll be drawn against either PSG, Malaga, BVB, Shakhtar, Barça or Bayern. If we finished first we'd have Porto, A.C. Milan, Real Madrid, Juventus, Valencia, Benfica or Galatasaray. Pretty much all of those teams would beat us in our current form. I'm just happy we made it through.

what the hell has happened to tevez and aguero, theres absolutly dire and thats being generous.

If your a bit of a football anorak, there was a fantastic podcast on Football Unlimited just after Aguero signed for City. It was an English guy who had gone to coach on in Germany, Holland and Italy . In the case of Holland, everyone raves about the 'Continental' Training but he said nothing could be further from the truth. What they try and do is replicate the coaching sessions, warm up's cool downs, regime etc the same as Brazil and Argentina. Thats why more South American's thrive in countries like that.

Conversley, over here, the South American Flair is coached out of them at the expense of percentages football in England. He said Aguero would have a brilliant first season and by pretty much this time now, would have less impact and look more jaded.

Pretty much true to his word.

Good podcast for anoraks :p

So Arsenal are going to face one of Barca, Dortmund, Malaga, Shakhtar/Juve or Bayern/Valencia.... can only see them going through if they some how happen to get Valencia (who are currently second in their group)

Banging on today or yesterday about the great mental strength the team has..... he still bangs on all the time about "if we just had Diaby fit" ... because he for one thinks he's brilliant(he's not even good), and for another because he still somehow imagines that he'll be fit for a whole season some time.

Those three things alone show Wenger is deluded, can't judge a players quality, and isn't located in the real world the rest of us live in any more, all three things which say he should be gone.

I really don't care that he won titles before, pretend Wenger quit on a high after an unbeaten season, then his twin took the job, the guy who has been in charge since our last title.... does not deserve to keep his job, he's bought the wrong players, kept the wrong players, played the wrong tactics, makes the wrong subs, has an academy which has consistently over what 16 years... produced absolutely nothing compared to basically any other team in the whole country(2 players capable of first team quality, Cole and Wilshire?).

People keep going with this idea that because he won something before he can do again, like people can't change, like everyone stays the same.

Main thing is everything that made his side a winning side, the type of signings the style of football, the selling of players to get better ones, the gems on the cheap, the formation and tactics that he used to win..... he doesn't do any of that stuff the same? When we finally get shot of Wenger, we're going to have 3-4 years getting rid of the crap who won't leave, slowly rebuilding and likely lose multiple managers inbetween a la Chelsea/Liverpool as fans/board/media want instant change, while the reality is it will take significant time.
