*** The Official Samsung Galaxy Note II Thread ***

Nice one on the heads up man, whats the deal with using the camera? i dont mind opening it all the time it's only going to be temporary case, just wanted something that fits well and protects the screen. But if your saying the ultra clear screen protectors work great i could get a shell type case and use that screen protector. I dont really care too much about the sides and the back, the back can be replaced, the only thing that really matter is that massive screen :D There's some Youtube videos people drop testing and abusing the Note II, it's a tank :p

Been following this thread for a while but haven't checked in a few weeks. Got my Note II coming on Tuesday. Free handset, £36 a month on Three with 500 mins, 5000 texts, uncapped data. Winner!

To recap, what cases do people prefer? Mum has a Note I with a flip case which is nice but I don't like how it gets in the way during calls and playing games etc. Any recommendations? Preferably less that £15!

You have to hold it like a book to take pictures (using the rear camera)

I didn't initially mind opening / closing but it became annoying and then ... 'oh god I cant live like this' ...

screen protectors: here

I have a rubber clamshell on mine:

slightly bulky but fully protects its back and sides

Na, I need my Samsung goodies (and battery life) :p

Edit*

The Invisible Shield arrived and either I'm completely crap at applying screen protectors like this or something is horribly wrong with the IS Note II product!

Here's the back which is mostly fine apart from a dust spec stuck under the top right but that's ignorable:

And now the front:

I followed the instructions properly and yet it still came out like that and the home button section wasn't cut/aligned right either.

I removed the front and binned it but the back can stay as it does add a protective layer and does provide nice grip, on my car's centre console the phone will stick where I put it now :)

lol oh dear that front one wasnt playing ball. Must be a naff one and not your application skill.. looks very thin and tricky to get them bubbles out. Oh well on to the next one eh? Guy above linked some that he said where good with the S-Pen might be worth taking a punt on them.

To be honest I'm not bothered about front screen protectors :p Reason I chose the Invisible Shield is because a relative has one on his S2 and his applied just fine but I was mainly interested in the back because of the extra grip it gives and the scratch proof protection which I give it that, it does very well!

I've got the Nilkin case incoming though so if that adds too much bulk then I'll stick with the Invisible Shield and sell the Nilkin on eBay.

Hmm didn't notice that on the back, damn this!

S3 screen left unscathed :p

The IS protector adds grip which is the main thing though.

Haha sorry but just can't help it. The application of that screen protector is hilarious!

I'd recommend this one - http://www.amazon.co.uk/SPIGEN-Stei...5Z6S/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1355006501&sr=8-1

Fitted on perfectly, no bubbles, or scratches yet. 2 come in the pack. I'd say I'm good at applying screen protectors, but I'm sure you'll be fine. Just make sure you apply it spot on in the middle because it's slightly smaller than the phone, since it doesn't go around the home button like the one you have - pretty silly design since fitting it around a home button is always a pain.

Good luck - arguable whether you'll need it or not :P

The SGP ones aren't stretchy like IS ones are though, I had an SGP one on my S3, I still didn't like it though and binned it :p

Ah well, bareback (front) it is.
