US: Homeland Season 2 (US A week before UK)

Knew Brody was a bit twisted but he took a chance towards the end then! What if the vp just had heartburn?! :p

I hadn't though so up to now, but this episode was a nightmare.

I have to say in general for the first times in this programme I was disappointed with it.

Stretching credibility is an understatement, it was utterly ridiculous and spoilt it both for me and the missus.

Yep, I agree. The more I think about the latest episode the worse it becomes. Abu Nazir personally kidnapped Carrie, despite not knowing where she lived or what car she drove and if she had security following her or not, Brody's phone magically stopped being tapped, the vice president's house seemed to have absolutely no security cameras or security equipment of any kind, Carrie and Nazir had an embarrassingly cheesy and contrived conversation about what it is to be a terrorist, the fact that the kidnapping was totally pointless because Brody wanted Walden dead anyway. The list goes on...

I know Homeland isn't the most realistic show anyway, but this episode really took things too far and rather than being able to forgive the little problems and enjoy the show, I couldn't focus on anything but the ridiculousness of the episode. Hopefully it gets better otherwise I might stop watching it.

Latest episode wasn't tooo bad, I guess. Until Carrie calls for backup, lets them know where she is but completely forgets to mention anything about the vice-president... hmmm

She's protecting Brody duh. Saul and Carrie are supposed to be the good guys (read: pussies) and allow Brody to live his life out in the sticks (even though he's a known traitor, accessory to murder and terrorist sympathiser). Besides there was next to nothing they could do anyway if they had the code, the terrorists had all the kit already set up. Veep was as good as dead before Carrie even got hold of a phone.

We're supposed to hate the black boss and quinn, it's pretty obvious Hollywood pinko propaganda.

I don't think anyone anywhere said he kidnapped her personally, him being with here doesn't mean he took her, maybe I didn't watch closely and he was shown in the car, it could have been anyone that took her then drove her to him.

As for not knowing if she was being followed or what her car is, who says? She was at the scene where the team planning to blow stuff up was captured, and could have been followed, they saw no security so took her, if they saw security they could have taken her elsewhere. As for security, you'll often find security inside is far less than getting in for places like this. Governments generally don't like their meetings being filmed, and its incredibly unlikely he would have camera's in his own study... does he want a recording of him making a call saying "yeah bomb those kids?".

The contrieved conversation is the conversation you'd expect them to have in that situation, what else would they say, it wasn't great, should they have discussed the election?

As for the kidnapping being pointless because he wanted Waldon dead... wanting Waldon dead, and aiding in his murder are VASTLY different things, he's wanted Waldon dead, and been in a room with him probably hundreds of times, and yet not decided to commit obvious murder and end his own life in doing so.

It's also very possible they realised Brody had turned and staged the entire attack just to kidnap Carrie as they realised he was his weak spot, their target was from day one, Waldon, and they got their target by kidnapping her. The terrorists got caught, but their target was Waldon and their capture helped lead to it. I'm not saying that was their plan, maybe they hoped to do both.

Presuming Brody would help kill Waldon, break into his office/safe and risk being caught just because he wanted him dead, without an incentive is silly, largely because of his lack of doing so himself previously.

Terrorism is a sense of perspective. The Government does much and more that could be construed as such, were it not a sovereign power.

Now who has an agenda? What a load of crap.

Has a season 3 already been sanctioned?

With Nazir death I REALLY can't see where they'll go from here. Unless they're going to have a whole season of a black ops team chasing Carrie and Brody who are on the run after Saul tells them the truth. Bit of a stretch mind.

ok is just me or was the FBI tactical squad thing laughable? I mean chatting on a "mission" and splitting up and going investigating into deep dark parts of the building. It just felt wrong as if it would never happen.

I hate episodes where they go into dark tunnels, kind of creeps me out a bit.

This program is starting to annoy me... well the character Carrie Mathison is starting to annoy me.

Was that the Season finale?

Carrie & Brodie, and Mike & the 'V' woman seem established now, so that's good. Not sure where they are going to take next Season. Unless Brody ends up being Head of the CIA or something :)

No idea how they're going to do a third season. It's either going to require some good writing or this show will become absolutely dreadful (in my opinion, season 2 has been quite poor compared to the first anyway).

That's not unlikely at all actually, it's either that or they have to engineer a scenario that makes Brody needed, or have some balls and kill him off like they should have done in season 1, they killed off walden anyway, they could have had a spectacular season 1 ending and then a completely new season 2, oh well. BTW when did Carrie get reinstated or is she still a consultant?

I agree, this was very stupid. Especially after what happened at the start of episode when Carrie tried to interrogate the FBI squad and was told they work in PAIRS! That fella with Carrie, where was his partner!?
