Yep, I agree. The more I think about the latest episode the worse it becomes. Abu Nazir personally kidnapped Carrie, despite not knowing where she lived or what car she drove and if she had security following her or not, Brody's phone magically stopped being tapped, the vice president's house seemed to have absolutely no security cameras or security equipment of any kind, Carrie and Nazir had an embarrassingly cheesy and contrived conversation about what it is to be a terrorist, the fact that the kidnapping was totally pointless because Brody wanted Walden dead anyway. The list goes on...
I know Homeland isn't the most realistic show anyway, but this episode really took things too far and rather than being able to forgive the little problems and enjoy the show, I couldn't focus on anything but the ridiculousness of the episode. Hopefully it gets better otherwise I might stop watching it.
I don't think anyone anywhere said he kidnapped her personally, him being with here doesn't mean he took her, maybe I didn't watch closely and he was shown in the car, it could have been anyone that took her then drove her to him.
As for not knowing if she was being followed or what her car is, who says? She was at the scene where the team planning to blow stuff up was captured, and could have been followed, they saw no security so took her, if they saw security they could have taken her elsewhere. As for security, you'll often find security inside is far less than getting in for places like this. Governments generally don't like their meetings being filmed, and its incredibly unlikely he would have camera's in his own study... does he want a recording of him making a call saying "yeah bomb those kids?".
The contrieved conversation is the conversation you'd expect them to have in that situation, what else would they say, it wasn't great, should they have discussed the election?
As for the kidnapping being pointless because he wanted Waldon dead... wanting Waldon dead, and aiding in his murder are VASTLY different things, he's wanted Waldon dead, and been in a room with him probably hundreds of times, and yet not decided to commit obvious murder and end his own life in doing so.
It's also very possible they realised Brody had turned and staged the entire attack just to kidnap Carrie as they realised he was his weak spot, their target was from day one, Waldon, and they got their target by kidnapping her. The terrorists got caught, but their target was Waldon and their capture helped lead to it. I'm not saying that was their plan, maybe they hoped to do both.
Presuming Brody would help kill Waldon, break into his office/safe and risk being caught just because he wanted him dead, without an incentive is silly, largely because of his lack of doing so himself previously.
