Weight Increasing - Not Gaining Muscle

Squats at 80kg at the moment. However I seem to suffer with them when I go deep with my Left hip, like a click and feels uneasy the deeper I go so always take care with them and stay a little lighter than I could maybe do. Although 80kg is hard enough for now!

Thanks a lot, Im quite pleased as I think im keeping quite lean as well as gaining weight. I dont feel a lot fatter now anyways!

I have never take a PWO shake either, I have always just stopped training, do a mile or 2 run for cool down and then wait until Tea, around 1.5hours. Ordered some CNP Pro Recover to take directly after my workouts, im to happy with the additional 310kcals but should be not too bad.

Interested to see if it makes a difference.

Looking good - I struggle enough with 3500+ calories daily!

That reminds me, I really ought to get a picture up on the pics thread, of my post 1/2 marathon training body since I haven't been to the gym for so long.

it gets easier with calories to be honest, even some days now I am getting hungry!

However the night mare is when I go out for meals...... Even with Bread, Starter, Main and Dessert I always worry about ill not get enough to hit my target

Ditch the dessert and have a second main.

You don't go into McDonalds/whatever and get worried there aren't enough calories in a Big Mac Meal, do you? You just order another Big Mac. Or another Big Mac and a £1 cheeseburger.

But I'm guessing you probably don't go to McD's? :(

Just me for the SuperSize Gainz Menu, then... :D

Well weigh in today........ 10.13.6....... So that is a 10lb gain in 14weeks.

Have to say really struggling with the weight gain now, head is doing flips and I do feel the fat gain as well as the muscle :( but the fat is the worst part right now :(

You will gain fat I'm afraid. There's nothing you can do about that (other than lowering calories) - your body is just not able to convert all of those calories into muscle. Unless you're artificially aided ;) and even then the acceleration of muscle tissue is not going to keep on going.

If you're taking on so many calories, your training and everything will start to generate muscle, but any excess calories will turn into fat - no ifs or buts.

Well my problem seems to be is on 4500kcals I actually lost 2lb over 2months...... So im on 5250ish calories now, and am gaining around 0.7per week.

There seems to be no sweet spot lol. Doing my head in abit now as me and fat dont go well together.

There isn't a sweet spot I'm afraid. Our bodies are so dynamic that things change day to day. As long as you're training hard, and building some muscle, you will metabolise more calories - it's just the way it is, however, your body will not convert 100% of the excess calories into new muscle. Just keep at it, the more muscle you build up the leaner you will get within reason. There will come a time where you will have to taper off the calories.
