Don't drink and drive this Christmas - my story

Lol.

On a serious note I get a lot of stick from people because if we go out anywhere and I am driving I won't have a single drink of alcohol. I'd just rather have a zero tolerance approach to it.

You always get the "just have one, you'll be alright!"

I don't understand people like this. I don't get why it matters so much to them that you aren't drinking that they feel the need to keep insisting that you have one, and that you'll be okay.

The worry is the morning after, big night wednesday so won't be driving until afternoon earliest. I have drive the morning after before and it's not very clever!

Easy prey which gets their stats up unfortunately. Much easier to catch a bloke who's marginally over the drink drive limit than investigate a burglary which actullay requires a bit of detective work.

That's a rather stupid thing to say. If you've ever seen the results of an RTC involving drink you would probably think otherwise.

And just to answer your criticism, forces have dedicated traffic and burglary teams, so they won't be neglecting any other type of crime!

Ditto, really annoys me. I have friends who insist they know the "limit" and drink then drive, I'd never get in a car with them.
I drink absolutely nothing if I know I'm going to be driving, I barely drink as it is so even half a pint of something has its effect. Just isn't worth the risk!

Funny joke :)

In regards drinking/driving I tend if I have even a couple of beers to not drive for at least 24 hours afterwards. Anything else is just daft IMO

Your trolling really knows no bounds. Alternatively, if you really are that stupid, I genuinely feel sorry for you.

Good joke - had me going :)

As for the people who insist on zero tolerance, i respect your decision, but i personally don't see what the big deal is about having one pint and then driving. Two pints would be pushing it imo, but after one pint, well it has practically no effect - i'd be more worried about people driving whilst on paracetamol or with a cold to be frank. Both of those will impair your driving more than a pint of beer will. (no evidence to back this no)

A couple of nights ago, I was out with a few friends for a couple of drinks.
I had a few beers, and topped them off with a sneaky Aftershock. Not a good idea.
Knowing I was probably over the limit - I did something I'd never done before... I took a taxi home.
I passed a load of police at a roadblock, but as it was a taxi they just waved me through.
I arrived home safe and sound, which was a real surprise.
I have never driven a taxi before, and I'm still not really sure where I got it from.

Drink drive kills people. Burglaries generally don't.

I've unfortunately lost friends to drunken drivers.

Don't really find it a funny matter, and I agree with Burnsy. I'd rather stop drunken idiots getting in to cars and save innocent lives.

But everyone is different. Some people may well still be stone cold sober after one, but others can be more affected by it. How your body reacts and breaks down alcohol depends on a wide variety of things.

I though I'd heard this before. I can't remember the comedian that said it but the version I heard a couple of years ago went along the lines of...

"I was pished the other night so I took a bus home....[pause]....I'm still not sure how I drove it in that state though"
