No the £300 is the dif from the 1.6 to 1.8 the instance will e for me about £2400 a year on the 1.6 and £2700 for the 1.8 the instance is so high because of the area I live in
 
My punto atm is costing £2300 a year so the dif isn't a lot between that to the 1.6 the swift is about the same as the punto to insure

Yes I get that

Difference in insurance - £300
Difference in fuel - £100

Total difference - £400 or £30 per month

Not that big a difference for a better car

I pity you :( At 23 I was insuring an MR2 Turbo for under £1000 (this was only a few years ago).

im 23 and my jag 3.2 v8 costs me £640 a year, car before was a 4.0 soarer which was £800 with all of the mods.

how can you possibly be thinking about spending £2700 on insurance for an MX5!! surely you can get a more reasonable quote than that.
 
Just because it costs £2400/£2700 with one insurer, it doesn't mean that every insurer will charge that much for a 1.8. Who have you done quotes with?

You don't happen to live in the BB postcode area do you? I'm paying 2500 for my car, and I'm 23 with 1yr NCB :( Most import specialist brokers didn't even want to touch me due to living in BB.
 
Get a 1.8 MX5 and you will be loling all the way to the bank.

Im not seeing exhausts as any form of benefit, but then I am probably older than your dad so that may be why :)

Yea it's not a importance but I like the look of twins that's my own personal pro to the car I know I can get a mx5 with twins but would have to pay extra as for most of em don't come standard I also like the 17" alloys that come standard on the swift too
