*** The Official Samsung Galaxy Note II Thread ***

Yeah Samsung UK will fix any EU phones.

I can't seem to get my free 50gb Dropbox? I logged in with my existing account but haven't received an email or anything about it. Anyone know why?

I had to logi nto dropbox and do a couple of bits in account setup and got it after a couple of days.

I've already done the account set up things before getting the Note 2. I just received an email about adding Android device to Dropbox so will wait a few more days to see if the 50gb gets applied.

I'm new to the whole Android thing, what apps are essential? Do I need a task manager? A battery usage? Do I need to root the Note in order to skins/themes of the home screen and contact app?

Dock arrived today, the USB port is tighter than the Zenis dock on the S3/S2 but it should loosen over time. Fit and finish is the same as the Zenis, the base if all rubber which is slightly higher quality than the plastic of the Zenis though.

On the Note 2 it doesn't seat on the back as there's a few mm of gap so I used sticky backed rubber feet on the dock back to allow the phone back to rest without stressing the USB port. It's clearly a dock designed for multiple phones both portrait and landscape and with cases attached.

As usual, great photo! :)

Have you gone back to "black" again? :p

EDIT:

NVM, can just about see the grey/black stripes on the edge there!

EDIT:

What grid size do you use? 5x4?

Just picked up the note 2 from Samsung at westfield stratford for 459 :D

Also got the Nillkin brown case from the bay and its a very nice case, has a nice textured back for some grip.

Returned the one from MPD as it had be used before!

Like your lock screen. How do I change the lock screen to something like that? Does it involve rooting? I'm a complete novice on Android, been a Windows 6 user and then iPhone. :p

:) 5x5!

That's my homescreen, not lockscreen. Lockscreen is just standard swipe to unlock with shortcuts so nothing special :)

Not yet, maybe tomorrow! The dock came today and all were ordered at the same time so I'm hoping it does :)

Trying to decide between this or the S3, my contract runs out in May but I was thinking of paying the remainder of it in January and taking an unlimited plan out as I do a lot of web browsing and media streaming in work. :p

Quite looking forward to a new phone either way, I'm using an iPhone 4 at the moment and browsing on such a small screen is horrible. :(

Nilkin is the one I'm waiting to be delivered!

Will take a look at those links above cheers!

Edit*
Yesterday I experienced the best battery life yet I think, 3hrs 40something screen on time, 17 hours elapsed and battery at 50%!

This thing just goes on and on :D

Fellow Note II owners, NFS Most Wanted is now 73p! A must have for this phone, the gfx are awesome and it's an enjoyable racer. A lot of the comments say it lags as I'd imagine but it's as smooth as silk on the Note II. :)

It just crashes on my Note 2. First launch downloaded 600MB of data and now it just goes to a blank screen then closes to the launcher.
Maybe my kernel or something.

I downloaded a 'free version' first just to test it out and it worked fine. Have purchased the app now and will download the data this evening and report back. The game data should be around 1.5GB if I remember correctly.
