*** The OcUK Ultima 10.1 Thread ***

Hi there

OK on Iplayer I've spotted what might be causing the issue.

When you first launch BBC Iplayer it ask you whether you want to use Chrome or Browser, Chrome definetely does not work, you must select the browser option.

If you've done Chrome, then the only way to fix this I've found is via factory reset, then re-install and install and make sure you select browser.

Thanks for that Gibbo
Thats the only browser I hadn't tried was Chrome, it works using the stock Ultima browser, Firefox and Dolphin browser!

No what I mean is Chrome does not work! The browser on the tablet is the one which works.

Well for me Chrome refused to work and the tablets browser was fine.

Chrome hasn't got Flash support. You could go into app settings, find the iPlayer app and clear the defaults. When you next load it up, it should prompt you for which browser you want to use again.

^^ this, no need to factory reset.

Going back to the dead pixel standard by OCUK, looking at the link am I reading it right by saying that they allow 2 fully dead pixels per million, therefore at 1280x800 2 dead pixels is acceptable but more than 2 dead pixels is not ?

If this is the case the Tech I spoke to for the RMA on the phone didn't offer to do a swap out unit for the 4 dead pixels I had, from reading Gibbo's comment it looks like he should have ?, anyway have now RMAed it at my own cost.

Gibbo - This is fine, however perhaps you can go the extra mile and make sure the replacement units are within the acceptable standards, as bit gutted that I have held out with the delays on this tablet and ended up having to return it within a few hours of opening it. Also how quickly can the RMAs be turned round please for these ?

Thanks
Diddy

Can confirm that my problem was Chrome as I had it set as default browser but iplayer works with the stock tablet browser.

I've tried clearing the defaults for iplayer & media player and rebooting but it does not prompt me which browser to use, it loads Chrome.

Loving mine so far, the case really does feel like it belongs in a more expensive tablet.

I also get better WiFi on this than my hox.

Ty ocuk, best buy I've had in ages.

Cleared data & cache for Chrome but it still loads as the default browser for iplayer.

Also tried uninstalling & reinstalling iplayer & media player, this does not work either.

Clearing data on Chrome won't change it as a default application. Scroll down a bit more to where it says Launch by Default.
