*** The OcUK Ultima 10.1 Thread ***

Any chance of some real pics of it please guys :)

I notice the Nexus 10 is faster than this, what hardware makes them different?

Nexus 10 is over £300 :p

Nexus 10 is quad core CPU I think versus dual core here, it also uses Mali T604 which is about the fastest tablet graphics yet compared to the quad core Mali 400 here.

Screen wise nexus 10 is 2560x1600 compared to 1280x800 here, both are IPS, though the nexus 10 is plagued with issues at present.

Actual performance between the the two is very similar as the nexus 10 needs all that power for it whopping 2560x1600 resolution.

I could have sworn I saw this at £150 this morning, it is now £180?? Any up and coming deals in the new year perhaps? At £180 I'm tempted to spend a little bit more and pick up something from a retail store (such as an Iconia tab) for extra peace of mind / returns.

Isn't the Iconia Tegra 2 or 3? Mali 400 MP is faster for gaming.

The Nexus 10 is a dual core, but it's using A15 cores, whereas the tablets you guys are selling are A9s. The A15s are just the next generation architecture from ARM, similar to the transition from Core2s to Nahelem chips with intel.

Were working on building a Nexus 10 competitor, but maybe with quad core and Mali T604 graphics. :D

Shall be epic with circa 32GB for about £299, but about 4-6 weeks away.

Ahh Gibbo - My preference is towards the ocuk one for many reasons... not least the price and the fact that you can actually buy it before the end of 2013 ;)

I wanted the nexus 4 but that isn't going to happen so figured I'd scratch my android itch with a tablet!

This new tablet you mention.... is it a definate?

Not a definite yet I'm still working on the design, what screen, chassis to use etc and timeing could slip, will no for sure within couple of weeks but it will be circa £300

You can do better than the google price gibbo..... you know you can ;) £20 isn't enough (pretty please ;) )

Can you not get one assuming you are having them made to spec, with 16gb and a SD slot? I'm fed up of being robbed for extra onboard memory ala apple style!

Nope we have to take 1k units, as such 32GB is preferred as it cost very little extra and has far greater appeal.

This is not what I want to hear. :p

Will the screen res match the Nexus 10?

Currently using mine now. Feels pretty snappy and the screen has excellent viewing angles. Also arrived fully charged and with the haribo of course :p
