*** The OcUK Ultima 10.1 Thread ***

Battery life usuallly takes a few recharges to settle down, but have you turned off Bluetooth (if you're not using it)?

Turned Bluetooth off and also turned screen brightness down as well.

[Edit]

Will try and take a picture of pixel/dirt & light bleed.

Worst one is the one in the middle left hand side. Others don't show up as much. Couldn't get a decent picture showing the light bleed.

So far I have been impressed with this tablet for the few hours I have been using it.

Gripes so far are;

1) Back light bleed bottom left had corner
2) 2 x Dead/Stuck pixels and/or dirt (they are different in size)
3) Noise interference when using headphones

How are people finding the battery life? I have run mine down and then fully recharged but it seems a little on the short side.

How short is battery life mike was thinking of one for my son but seems more and more problems with them.

can you run the 3d element to the Benchmark whilst running on battery?

Just tried this AnTutu v3.0.3 won't run 3D test complete, it gets to the troll and ninja and at same time every time just goes blank. Connect to mains and zero issues.

Quadrant runs on the battery no issue as does GTA Vice City and HD Video, makes me think it's a software/firmware issue.

I shall test more tablets at work with AnTutu on battery as I did all my benchmarking with tablets connected to mains to see if other models have the same issue.

But for games and HD video I've had no issues and the battery is now giving me a good 5-6hrs of heavy usage now I've had it a weekish :)

Plays the sims fine on battery for me. I don't think it's a power issue as the benchmark crashed on open. I'm fairly happy with it but I have filed an RMA request as I keep getting more dead pixels. Hopefully I'll get another one without this issue.

Mine crashed when I tried a game and when playing video.
So its in post on way back and will order a sumvision.

Shame ocuk have raised it to a stupid price when I can get online for 150 still....

Its a battery issue. It simply draws to much power and it cuts off.

Got mine this morning. Already had one lock up which forced me to reset it.
No dead pixels thankfully. Youtube/iplayer/netflix/tv catchup all work fine.

There's a fair bit of hiss on the headphone output and I have to say that I expected the display to be better. It's not terrible, but viewing angles are pretty poor imo. You don't have to move very far from straight on viewing to notice the contrast shifting very noticeably.

Browsing and navigating is pretty snappy on the plus side.
Gonna live with it for a couple of days before i decide if it's a keeper.

EDIT: Just locked up while watching TV catchup.

Not had any lock-ups yet but I do get the noise interference with headphones.

It's now had a few charges, after letting the battery go flat, also turned off Bluetooth and adjusted screen brightness and the battery life is improving.

I've run AnTutu v3.0.3 with 3D test enabled using battery power and it ran with no issues.

Good to see your getting 5-6 hours now.

Still not sure whether I will be keeping mine or sending it back.

No dead pixels or app/reboot issues here yet. The G-sensor is a bit pants for games though (unless mine has an issue).

Seems that others are having lots of issues though. How many of these units have you sold so far Gibbo?

Will be keeping this unless any major faults appear wihin the 14 days. Great tablet tbh! Was expecting a little more power for games, but my samsung galaxy s2 is doing much better on that front...

We sold just shy of 200 of these 10" models and 250ish of the 7" one.

What games you playing? So far I've played GTA Vice City which I would say is the most demanding I have and it plays fine with everything on max.

Tablets hover between 10-20% on return rates, the worse we ever had was a Scroll unit at 40%, the only ones sub 5% were Apple.

I'm just glad we never sold the Nexus 10 ;)

I also plugged s USB card reader into mine and it worked no problem. Wonder if I could connect a keyboard and mouse to it :D

Try it! :)

One of the customers in our shop put a Playstation emulator on one and got a Bluetooth game controller and said it works great.

Make that another one - my son's one (received this morning) has a corner of the touchscreen which doesn't register touches at all. RMA time... :(

You would think the people who make them would actually test them....

They obviously dont care about the products they create.
