anyone ever had a ghostly experience ?

They have. But not everyone who thinks they have have.

No, they really haven't. Think about it, if they did it would have been studied, evidenced, reviewed and journalled somewhere respectable.

I know I've posted about weird happenings in the past (living opposite a graveyard) but even I know there's a logical explanation to those as well.

I see a woman in white walk into my bedroom, stop at the end of the bed and watch me for me a few seconds then left heading for my sisters bedroom. I lay frozen for a few seconds after then walk down to my sisters bedroom who's door was open and she was awake looking in the direction of the door but hadn't seen anything.
At the time an argument was taking place in the house and couldn't sleep because of it, so I know I was awake at the time. Slept in my sisters bed that night.
I was 9 at the time and it was summer '95.

I once woke up seeing a dark shadow-like figure leaning over my bed. Scared the crap out of me, but didn't think much of it.

I've seen my old dog (RIP) a couple of times through the corner of my eye.

Sounds like some people in this thread need to quit the weed

Pfft, weed doesn't make people believe in boogie-men.

Hallucinations are scientifically known to exist. Ghosts/spirits/jinns etc do not exist, and there is no good reason to believe that they do exist.

You can decide for yourself which is the more likely explanation but if it's not obvious, I'd suggest reading up on the science of hallucinations, particularly shortly before or after sleeping. Or you can keep believing the fairy tales.

I've also seen strange things just after waking up or just before falling asleep, but just because your mind thinks it sees or hears something, doesn't mean those things actually exist.

It definitely doesn't mean that those things are remnants of random dead people's conciousness, and it's actually a pretty ridiculous leap to believe that they are.

I was staying in a hotel in Malton, Yorkshire on business a few years ago. I settled in for the night after a few drinks in the bar only to be kept awake by someone's heavy steps in the room above. Didn't think anything of it until the next morning when I was checking out in reception and there was some news paper clippings on the wall about the history of the hotel and one of them mentioned about the hotel being haunted. Spoke to the receptionist about it and she said that yes that's what people here and when I went out and had a look, there wasn't actually a floor above the room I was in, just a flat roof.

Science mode: It was a hot summers day so I would assume it was the thermal expansion and contraction of the big wooden beams in the roof that was creating the thumping noises.

What I will say: It's probably just your mind playing tricks, don't worry :)

What I would do: ABORT, ABORT. Leave house immediately and kill all ghosts with fire.

Seems a bit more likely than an invisible dead bloke who despite not having a physical presence, is still somehow able to bang your ceiling...

I wonder... Could a ghost potentially play the drums? Where did Keith Moon die?

Probably mentioned this story before, not really a ghost story per se, but scary none the less.

Was big into my lucid dreaming, so that night was attempting to try. Basically laying there with my body not moving at all, even resisting to scratch itches etc. I had, as stated above, began experiencing hypnagogic hallucinations, my body got heavy, my teeth felt like they had electricity running through them, then my body felt as though it got sucked into a train tunnel. It's a quite hazy what happened after but I remember 'waking up' laying there and feeling overwhelmed with fear, I can't remember If i saw anything but I knew there was something/someone at the side of my bed watching me, after a few seconds I must have gone back to sleep.

In the morning reflecting on what happened I for some reason couldn't shake the feeling it was me at the end of my bed, watching myself but at the same time watching me watch myself. Mind blown I know /Pkshhhhhh.

You sound like a lot of fun.

Play Slender, then think about turning around in your chair to look behind you.
