IM SO LIEK, JEL, MAN.

If you're trying to be sarcastic and make out that i'm trying to show off i'm not. :confused: All I asked was a simple quote for that car at my age and I'm getting sarcastic answers or people not taking me serious. I don't know what i've said that could be so funny.

Nobody can give you an insurance quote - only an insurer can. Most of them have websites you can get quotes from.

I am honestly intrigued as to why you think random people on an internet forum can give you a meaningful quote with no information given...

It's the school holidays and as Millionaire Boy Racers finishes, this thread pops up. I think we all know what's going on here...

You could have obtained an actual quote in less time than it took to argue with everyone in this thread though? Nobody can give you a rough idea because none of us spent £65,000 on an Audi Q7 at the age of 16, so we don't know how much it would cost to insure such a car on our 17th Birthday.

Well I don't know what other information to give? I tried to give as much as information that i thought would be helpful? (Area, Age etc.)

And even if I was 17 and only driving for a few months what would be the difference between a 50 year old taking his tests and have only been driving for a few months?

You can't fathom why an insurance company would consider you more of a risk than a 50 year old man?

I DON'T KNOW WHAT I'VE DONE WRONG. I HAVE NO IDEA. I'M NOT ARGUING WITH ANYONE I'M TRYING TO ANSWER THEIR QUESTIONS TO GET A SUITABLE ANSWER AND I'VE BEEN ON THE WEBSITES AND IT SAYS NO QUOTE COULD BE GIVEN AT THIS TIME. SO I CAME ONTO THIS FORUM AS IN THE PAST THEY HAVE BEEN HELPFUL SO I THOUGHT IF I POSED THEM THIS QUESTION THEY MAY BE ABLE TO GIVE A SLIGHT INSIGHT INTO WHAT I SHOULD DO OR WHICH OPTIONS I COULD TAKE. AND SO FAR, THERE HAS ONLY BEEN A HANDFUL OF PEOPLE WHO HAVE EITHER, TAKEN ME SERIOUSLY OR ACTUALLY TRIED TO HELP. AND YOU TALK ABOUT TROLLS? GTFO.

OK. To answer your questions;

I was looking to buy an Audi Q7 next year but was wondering what the insurance would be? I live in East London and I would be 17 when going to get Insurance. Would being insured as a named driver bring the cost down? Or even registering the car out of London?

- The cost is likely to be astronomical.
- I don't think being insured as a named driver is going to do much to help, and if you are the main driver, it's technically insurance fraud.
- Registering the car out of London; see point two.

The fact is, as Fox said, you are a 17 year old new driver, in east London trying to get insurance on a £64,000 vehicle. That's an incredible risk for an insurance company to take and that will be reflected in the premium you pay.

This is the insurers way of telling you they don't wish to offer you cover. You might therefore find that nobody is prepared to offer you cover at any price bar a handful of very specialist brokers who will charge an absolute fortune for it. You represent one of the highest risk customer types available - new drivers aged 17 are enough of a risk without adding an extremely high value, high end car into the mix. The chance the insurer would have to pay out on such a policy is so high very few will wish to take it on.

So much so that it absolutely won't be worth the money just to drive a Q7. Which is a pretty bizarre thing to buy at 17 anyway, surely if you are lucky enough to have £65,000 kicking around at the age of 16 you can find something more useful to do with it than buy a brand new SUV, especially one thats been around for 7 7years now so is probably about to be replaced with a new model anyway.

Thank you. So what car do you think I should buy? Would I get insured on a 3 series or 5? I just don't want to be driving around in something that looks like it came out the 70s.

Buy something like a Ford Fiesta or a VW Polo. Enjoy it for a few years. Then once you've got a few years of trouble free driving behind you, go and buy something more flash, if thats what you want, and be rewarded with an insurance premium that won't be insane.
