*** The Official Samsung Galaxy Note II Thread ***

ah forgot to ask, what cases do people recommend on the note ii's? Im looking at something thats not going to add too much bulk to it but still protecting to a certain degree, and what does the supplied charger look like? I'm guessing I wont get a mains one but only a usb lead with my handset so will probably pick up a genuine samsung mains one to go with it if Im happy with the phone

Can someone recommend me some decent screen protectors for my Note 2 please. I tried applying 2 free ones i got with a couple of cheapo cases and it was a nightmare. I swear the surface of the phone was immaculate, i pealed one side of screen protector off and applied it to me phone, i swear within the seconds of doing this dust must have flew in between. Now i have about 7 bubbles and at the centre of them i can see a speck of dust. It looks hideous now i know why this can be infuriating.

A link to some quality screen protectors and maybe a couple of tips to applying a screen protector would be really appreciated.

The Belkin pack of 3 from o2 stores are really good protectors, easy to apply and great fit.

Look on mobilefun website for some quality cases. Perhaps the Flip cover could be for you if you dont mind having a flappy bit. It protects the screen and the back, leaving you with a spare back plate. It doesnt add hardly anything to the bulk of the phone.

The USB to micro-USB cable/charger has a mains plug it can be connected to as well. So charging via USB or mains.

Well, after a few more weeks with my Note 2 I can happily say this:

The Note 2 is the best phone I've ever owned. Nothing else even comes close and I've owned some truly excellent devices in the past such as the One X, Galaxy Nexus, Sgs2, and every iPhone from the original to the 4S.
 
Only one or two people have gone to other phones and the only reason I've read is it was a bit too big for their hands, everything else about the phone has received top marks.

Thank god this isn't only mine, has done it since I bought it, for that reason I make sure it's unplugged everytime I'm not around, just incase!

I'm coming from a HOX, had a S3 which I wasnt all that keen on so the only thing I can think is its going to be similar to that, having said that my S3 seemed to lag a lot which was the main reason I got rid
 
I've been very impressed with mine, the only thing I might change is the standard flip case for something else as it makes it quite hard to hold when making calls.
 
Just been told by my phone that there is a firmware update.

Installing it now, kinda sad how excited I am!

Which version number?

I'm running JRO03C.N7100XXALJ3 which is the newest I believe.

In other news I've been spoiling my Note2. Got some lovely X10i IEMs, and my Fiio E07K USB DAC/AMP should be here tomorrow, along with a couple of OTG cables and a case :)

Xbox 360 controller here I come :D

I am now running JZO54K.N7100XXDLL4 apparently.

Couldnt see any difference so I uninstalled Nova Launcher .... Still can't see any difference lol.

Don't think I will put Nova back, wasn't using any of its features. Any other launcers worth trying?
 
Just checked mine, its a sim free handset (apparantly...) and is running JR003C.N7100XXALJ3 checked software update and nothing was found

Mine is 3 branded (by branded I mean all I get is a 3 splash screen) but 3 may well vet updates, so I could be a version behind.
