Very much this.
There has been no call for it before so why now?
This is the most retarded post in 2013![]()
Personally I think your op would be higher up but each to their own...
Very much this.
So that leaves housing and groceries.
Housing is a seperate benefit so thats out of the equation.
Food prices are so simmler is it worth the extra cost to the goverment to keep things analysed?
There has been no call for it before so why now?
They don't want the wealthy South subsidising the North.
They despise it.
There have been suggestions like this for decades.
No its not
Go look on the british gas website, Its tarrif dependant not county dependant.
a lot of the fuel is more expencive up north or similarly priced. Depending where you shop and what you buy the price of food is also the same/very simmlar.
Its the price of "non essentials" that differs and should not be taken into account for benefit purposes.
and the award for worst troll ever goes to .......... TRNC
I see this has decended into a north/south hate-in.
Don't you just love the unifying strength Tory and Labour policy has on Britain?
Better together... my ****.

Providing tax credits etc to plug the gap distorts the market, it's bad for the long term, unless your goal is to make the market uncompetitive and push jobs abroad.
No they prefer the North subsidising the south.
Get used to your ban, blatant trolling is against the forum rules.
Actually trolling is against the rules and if it's blatant it isn't actually trolling![]()
£180 every 2 weeks cash
Because the market will correct itself, the min wage pushes prices upwards, makes jobs pay more than they are worth and likely leads to unemployment.
The minimum wages prices the low paid out of work and increases the benefits bill.
Gas and elec prices are not only Tariff dependant, they ARE regonalised.
Pick a random northern postcode, then a random southern. Enter same details for both and i'm certain the northern one will come out cheaper.
What fantastic input into the thread, have a cookie...![]()
Tory Tofs at it again.
Other suggestions include
I agree, there seems to be three different "nations" in one country at the moment. The South East, the Rest of England and Scotland*
*Discounting Wales and NI for the moment!
Where would the line be drawn to what is northern?
Minimum wage is not the problem, the cost of housing (purchasing and renting) is the problem.
How can a person doing a menial job for Minimum wage afford to home themselves when a two bedroom house costs more than they earn to rent? Let alone purchase (speaking for the SE).
The rampant rise in house values and rents are the cause of a lot of this countries problems, the housing market should have been allowed to crash and normalise like in the states. The problem has already been mentioned here with the huge amount of benefits being paid to people who WORK for simple housing rental.
Creating a north and south divide is NOT going to help this country at all.
Get rid of minimum wage and abolish benefits all together tbh!
