Got my tablet back today, and they replaced both the top case and screen, meaning no more scratch on the screen! \o/

One thing though... I now seem to have an empty right angled triangle in my taskbar... Have I been made cellular enabled as well? If so... Does that mean I shjpuld be able to install a sim in here somewhere?

Thats weird, pry off the back and see if they've added a sim port lol, last time i checked, it wasn't possible. Development for this went to a complete standstill.

Unless of course they outright swapped it for a gsm version, but you would see a grooved port somewhere on the sides.

That's what I assumed - with the hole on the side I mean, but there isn't one, and my serial is the same too so they haven't changed the unit.

Don't really fancy prying the back off myself either... Might see if EE can offer me a sim for it or somerthing tomorrow.

Its actually really easy to get the back off, just use something that won't mark the case like a guitar pick or plastic prying tool. If you have strong nails that might work also. What ever you use just get one corner up then run all the way round. It pops off quite easily and there are no stickers damaged to say you've done it, you'll need to anyway if you want to put a sim in it.

Like a spudger or guitar pick :P

I honestly wouldn't bother mate, it'd just be a waste of plastic.
Get a plectrum and pry it off and have a looksie, if your worried, look at a teardown.

Flash drives work fine but hard drives need their own power. The N7 can't kick out enough power to spin up USB powered drives.

On my last trip to the USA I had my Xoom and my 7 with 32GB microsdhc cards in usb readers via a OTG cable. Worked pretty well on the whole as American Airlines didn't have ondemand in seat entertainment :(

Did you not go to CPW where you could have got it for £179 and then knocked off the VAT from there?

On a side note I bought one yesterday too and am loving it. I am however after a streamer/client app similar to Air Video Server and Player for iOS. I have files stored on my NAS that I use my HTPC to convert and stream and this works over 3G too. I now need something similar for Windows/Android. Anyone got any recommendations? I don't want to root mine as I use Sky Go.

If I do choose to root it, is there a quick on off function to the root so that I can switch it off when I want to watch Sky Go?

Absolutely loving mine so far. It seems the 32GB wifi version has full GPS so it is going to have pride of place in my car as well now. Just installed CoPilot on it and looks amazing.

Easily done I know! ;)

You finger slips onto the 'Buy' button, and then one click later the deed is done!

Do let us know how you get on with it.

I'm an android fan - and get on well with my S3 - so I don't foresee too much of an issue (I hope!).

Always like new gadgets anyway! :D

My S3 works without a mobile network / internet connection if you have a piece of software that is able to work offline. :) Maybe it's the same?
