Supplements the debate/discussion thread

Research would indicate 4.5g/day is good, spread across 4/5 servings to avoid parasthesia.

To contradict Chong (apologies), research does suggest better power output with beta alanine vs. control groups. However, we're not talking PED-style, but statistically significant, nonetheless.

parasthesia is bad? I don't mind the tingling sensation.

Have you read any thing on Taurine dosages?

Yea. I'm just wondering if I can take fewer/higher servings if I don't mind the tingling. 1.5g 4/5 times a day can be tricky sometimes.

Not at all. As pointed out some people don't like it.

For instance, when I first started out, I tried a blend with 2g/dose and it was really bad (like nausea). However, managing my own intake, 1g/dose is absolutely fine.

Regarding taurine, I'll have a look this evening...

Hey if someone can be bothered to follow a protocol like that, they deserve something. Personally I'm terrible at remembering to take supps. It's once a day or none for me usually :)
I want to try some Ornithine now!
It's a beast and great while taking it :) But you have to ask yourself is it worth the cost? I'd say no. Though it is an experience when it first kicks in so for that I'd say yeah maybe it's worth running a single course just for the hell of it!

Wait until it's in the sale with 50% off ;)

Same, I quite liked the tingling when I tried it.

As for Taurine I've found it's main uses to be hydration, so good to take around high output training with lots of sweating. Good with creatine and it's a god send to prevent hangovers! 3g/5g before going out on a binge drinking session with a pint of water. If in a fit state to remember another 2g when you get home with a pint of water. You'll be glad you did.

Zinc and magnesium are well worth taking, very important nutrients. A staple of mine as the body needs them when training hard. The MP one's are particularly good compared to the overpriced ZMA trademark

The ones on BSD seem good value as well, 300 for £38 @ one per night, the MP ones are cheaper for 270 pills but they say take 3 before bed.

EDIT - that price match changes things lol. Wonder if you really need to take 3 a night though?

My job involves 12 hour day/night shifts which switch all the time - I have trouble getting to sleep sometimes so it might be worth a punt if it helps knock me out and give me better rest.

Also I see on the bay you can get the Xtend sampler pack w/30 sachets (5 servings of the 6 flavours) - not great value for money but given I'm not hugely keen on the apple flavour and not sure what to order a whole tub of next...
