The "New Gear/Willy Waving" thread

Yeah, I've heard good things about those new iMac's. A friend said it outputs hardly any heat while encoding and it's whisper quiet for something so thin. He has the same spec and kitted out with a SSD and 32GB ram.
 
Exactly, I got the fusion drive so SSD and HDD, mobo and all that jazz, and it's the same size as most monitors.

And it has no vents at the top....they done away with that!

I'm sitting here now and feeling all around it and it's cool. My room temp is 21 degrees and the monitor isn't kicking out any heat. Now my 32 toshiba in the same room or xbox is another story but I swear there's next to no heat coming off my 2405.

I don't care what google says I'm telling you what my monitor is doing. It's calibrated with a spyder 3 pro and initial setting was 50% brightness before calibration.

Even before I got a calibrator and was in a much smaller room I've never once noticed any heat or have it cross my mind.
