Tamron 17-50 non vc f2.8

Nice upgrade from the kit lens, so far very pleased. Hopefully when the weather brightens up I can take it for a walk and post some example shots in the pictures thread.

I'm interested in hearing how good that head is and how stable it is when you get round to using it as the pistol grip idea for a ball head seems great to me personally.

Iv used it in the studio a few times previously and it definitely made me invest in one personally. It is really stable , zero wobble at all and its great to move around as all your doing is pushing the handle in to move it, then you have a friction twister if you need to fine tune the positioning.

id say definitely look at getting one, saves so much time!

:) Any "Must have" for the A77 that i should be looking at? What lenses did you have?

Firstly check that the camera is on at least firmware 1.05, there is 1.06 out but it doesn't really add much apart from being able to disable the video button.

I invested on the Sony battery grip because the battery life isn't the best but you could have course just carry extra batteries and make sure to only buy the official Sony batteries.

In terms of lenses I had lots but the 16-50mm and Sigma 50mm f1.4 were the ones that had most use and you won't far wrong with what you have bought.

If it comes with a 16-50 F2.8... why the two primes at 35 and 50mm immediately ?

When I bought mine I had an option to purchase the same lenses at a discount. I didn't take it but it was there.

Than the 16-50 2.8? Are you sure they didn't mean an 18-55? I have very little experience with Sony but given it's a first party 17-55 2.8 sort of lens, judging by the Canikon equivalents that lens should be brilliant, at least sharper than a nifty fifty.
