Skoda

finally found one that I'm purchasing on Sunday! Looking forward to it a lot. Will post pictures up on Sunday when I pick it up.

Quick question - probably will need to replace the front tyres and I've looked at the Goodyear Eagle F1's / Conti. Sport 3. Does anyone recommend either or maybe something else I should consider?

My Octy vRS came with Conti SC2's from the factory.
30k miles left I needed two new ones, so I have Conti SC5's fitted.
With my last two remaining SC2's looking good for around 38k miles and the fact they have never let me down I'm sticking with the brand for the foreseeable.
SC5's shouldn't be much more than SC3's?

Picked up yesterday :)

Congrats The Saint :P

That is the 2.0T yeah?

How do we tell the difference between petrol and dirty diesel vRS now?

Phil w, have you changed your valve cover gasket? Yours looks as weepy as mine. Im starting to get oil smells in the car, as it's dripping onto the exhaust manifold and smoking.

quick question people...

Do you use premium unleaded as opposed to just unleaded? The premium is 7p per litre more at my local, but I've no idea how much/if any gain in MPG - i.e. is it worth it.

Is it better for the engine?

Fuel economy wise, the car said it was about 2 mpg more than standard, but I can't say thats accurate. I felt premium fuel helps with low end torque, that would be the only real difference I could feel.

I stick premium in mine I do low mileage so hope the extra detergents in the premium keep the injectors etc. cleaner.

ah yes meant to post a picture of the car

Nice mate.

I think I might just try it for about 5 fill ups and see if I notice any difference

I think thats my pic. I cleaned it up shortly after and found out it was just excess oil which had missed the filler and gathered dirt over the years, no leaks as such.

Remap was done today at R-Tech. Had an awesome morning there and an even better drive back! Couple of things to get done if I want to squeeze a bit extra from it but I'm over the moon!

:D

It was £290 which is a 'custom' session, car was on the rollers from around 9.30-12.00.

Too early to comment on MPG yet as I was enjoying the drive home but certainly when driven tenderly its supposed to improve a little.
