Cheers for the link on the Drag Reduction System Duke. I must admit to understaning the principle, but not being able to figure out in my head how it was actually reducing downforce. Luckily that pic with the flow vis shows it perfectly. The airflow up the periscope detaches the air from the underside of the rear wing, meaning the area affected doesn't produce (as much) downforce or drag.

For anyone else who needs it, basically the triangle bit inside the green circle that doesn't have much flow vis on it is not producing downforce or drag. While its not a massive section of the rear wing, it is still a sizeable chunk of downforce to loose.

Weird was working eariler. No not that one (although I watched that the other day and it was very good, even just for the guys pronunciation of "flow"
