***** Official Football Manager 13 Thread *****

Well, I was thinking I might stay 1 more year at United and win a few more trophies, but I think I found my next team.

Don't laugh...

Seongnam Ilhwa Chunma

They are a Korean team in the K-League, and they sacked their manager. They sit a disappointing 8th after finishing top 2 5 seasons in a row.

I am thinking that I can go there, and win the Asian Champions League, seeing that they are still in it (qualified for the quarter finals). Al-Gharrafa have been eliminated, and they are the winners of the 2 previous ACL editions. Maybe with a bit of luck, I may finish another objective.

The downside is that they are not too good. Their players are nothing special and there are many teams better than me. Also, they only have 17 odd players so I don't have much squad depth.

My plan is:
1. Resign from Man United (nobody can play my release)
2. Apply for Seongnam
3. Delay the offer. Accept unless I find something better.
4. Grind out results till the transfer season, where I can buy a few players. My reputation may help here :P
5. Win the ACL
6. Leave
7. Go to some other continent.

Ever had a game like this? lost my best midfielder, and me first and second striker, then my best right back and somehow got a win with 9 players on the pitch.

Has anybody got any tips for getting out of the blue square premier? I am half way through my 3rd season in it and I am still going to finish mid table.

I got promoted from the BSS in the first season with eastbourne boro, it just seems I can't attract high enough quality of player to advance :(

Get a decent scout, best i found had 11 in current potential and get scouting! anyone with current potential of 4 stars upwards could help you get promotion. I had the same problem as yourself with another save and in the end got relegated. Problem i had was that i wasnt scouting correctly. Get scouting the free players, it can take a season or two but you should end up with a team with most on 4 stars.

Thanks, they returned some results straight away "due to extensive knowledge of England".

It also gave me some players I had not seen before and so I am looking into them.

Doing OK at the moment, 11th, 36 games in. :)

Yes! I've had 3 injuries in one game, and 2 of them were full season broken legs which was just plain ridiculous. There seems to be an issue with injuries if you ask me but I don't know if it is something that needs tweaking officially or something that can be helped by changing the training and match prep. I tend to check the hidden attribute now when I buy a player reference the injury proneness and anything above a 10 I stay clear. I had one player in my Ayr save who was a 13 and he was a living nightmare. He would get injured putting his boots on!

Download Genie Scout, and use that for the attribute scanning. There's a few hidden attributes like dirtiness on the pitch and injury proneness amongst others which are helpful. I also use it to tell me how consistent a player will be on the pitch. Some of the more expensive players in my game are somewhat surprisingly very inconsistent!

Currently playing last game of the season. 5th (me) vs 6th, both on 69 points. Winner takes all.... well a play off position anyway :p

Edit: and 2-0 up after 30mins.
Edit2: 2-1 at half term... chicken out and go defensive or stick with it. hmmm
Edit3: Close one, they got it back to 2-2, so I went all out for the win :D Got it to 3-2, went defensive. The equalise in the last minute. Still made the play offs though.

Well got promoted through the playoffs.
I currently have no money and a very average squad with no depth what so ever.

The board, in their infinite wisdom decide to build a new stadium, despite having an average attendance of only 300. So they take on a 3.2m loan (for a BSP team) which is going to cripple the club and they expect me to sell players as they are struggling financially!

Is their an option to resign because the board is run by a bunch of cowboys? :p

Lol thats amazing! im top of league one with Hednesford only had a refurb on my stadium so far just to make it all seated and luckily i had a nice couple runs in the cups getting to the 3rd round in the FA so that covered the cost. A 3.2m loan in the bsp is just absurd however and unless you get back to back promotions with decent cup runs every year i can see you getting into serious debt but hey! thats a challenge :p

Indeed! I've managed to reshape the squad quite nicely though, had a load of contracts expire so shifted some deadwood. The club also turned professional so I renegotiated everyone's contract to full time. It was really weird as everyone wanted a paycut and to be a backup player....

Still, it saved me some money at least and meant I could bring in some quality players where needed, along with some decent loans. I reckon I could push for play-offs again :)

My board is killing me.
I managed to rebuild Havant and Waterlooville to finish 11th in Npower League 2, that's my third season here, with 2 back to back promotions.

I survived a club take over.

I've now been given a lower budget than I did when I first entered the Npower League 2.

Starting to tick me off.
