Hayes and Yeading who?? lol.. I think I'm going to get them into the Premiership this season. Amazing stuff! They start out at the lowest level in the Blue Square Bet. They have a ridiculously small stadium and I started out with 35 season tickets :D I joined them unemployed with no experience and now the big boys are showing interest... Just five seasons in.. I'm doing ridiculously well all things considered.
 
Back playing this again after losing my last game save.

Sven Bender was my first buy at £15. Did me proud as a ball winning midfielder previously. I'll also buy Verratti as well and play him as an advanced playmaker.

Any ideas of a deep lying playmaker (support)? Needs to be under 25.

Who are you playing as now then? Or did you recover your save? With regards to a DLP - will a regen not do? I've seen some cracking ones again in my current H&Y save. I got them into the Premiership and finished 11th.

Started again as Man Utd but I couldn't recover my previous game. It's a bit boring playing from the start as there's so much deadwood in the team to get rid of.

Actually, thinking about it, I might get Will Hughes at an early age and send him on loan somewhere. He always seems to work out decent.

Don't send the best ones out on loan - providing you have top training facilities keep them at home. They will improve far more at the club. Just make sure you specify the training AND make sure they are set to play in the reserves otherwise they will stagnate.
 
Okay what's going on here.

Playing as H&Y in the Premiership. I have large database, a lot of leagues and no restrictions in my game. Most of my shortlist are from Argentina/Brazil and South America. in my previous save, 90% of all my shortlist were German, with only a couple from South America.

What I want to know, is how do you specify what countries appear? Is it random or is it based on your scouts/Director of football nationality etc. There must be a way to dictate. How come there are so many differences between the saves.
 
/\ Still not entirely sure how it all works but my shortlist has improved over a couple of seasons. I've employed better scouts from around the world. Still not perfect and still non the wiser really, but it is definitely improved.

I'm now playing really well as Hayes. I finished in 3rd spot in the Premier League and got into the CL. Considering I have no background, started out unemployed and started at the lowest level it's the best result I have had since I started the game.

But it is very interesting just how much reputation matters. Even though I am in the top 30 of the richest clubs in the world, I cannot no matter how hard I try, get the best players. It is actually quite significant. The players I can get are usually in the reserves of the better continental clubs. I cannot get first team players from the biggest clubs. My maximum wage contribution is about £70k per week for the best players, which is a long way off the wages expected by the best players. I compare my best players to what I had when I was leading with QPR and my god, what a difference. Just goes to show the many different levels to this game.

I have to grow my own regens but that takes many seasons. Then my training facilities are pants compared to the top leaguers. I started out with just 4000 seats in my stadium, and I now have 24,000 - but my facilities are only average. So all this takes a LONG time to improve. I am still up against the likes of Bale for Totters and the top players of the world with my paltry 18 year olds :D
 
I finally won the PL with Hayes and Yeading.. What an achievement. I have won it twice now. However, even with a much improved club ranking and the big boys clammering to hire my skills, I still cannot buy the best players. One defender, world class, will not join me because I cannot afford his loyalty bonus lol.. I can afford his 32 million price tag and his £125k per week salary, but I cannot afford his £7 million bonus. I can offer a maximum of £4.2 million, but he refuses every time. So I don't know what I need to do to get these big players. I'm the 11th richest club in the world now.. Bizarre!

Give him 150k/w.

I stopped playing this after the game decided not to give me the Scottish Hero achievement, even though I did what was required. Lost all motivation, mostly because I wanted to get 100% achievements, and I can't, because they are bugged.

Yes I tried to offer him more money and he still refused. Actually it's not just the loyalty bonus its the agent fee too.

Yes, sorry to hear about this. So are they definitely bugged? I've got 69 out of 107 apparently. English Hero my latest.

I got French hero only (from the hero ones) if I remember well. Think it was just me though, as I see other people (on forums) have it. There are quite a few more achievements which are bugged. If you check the % on people that have a specific achievement, you see that there are some simple ones at 0%.
 
I always lose interest in this towards this time of year as I'm to busy waiting for the new game!

Altho I can't help but going back to my spurs save every now and then.
 
This game can be very frustrating! Playing as Barnet third season and got them to 8th in league 1. The board just reduced the wages and can only sign players with a max of £2300 a week. Not only that there doesn't seem to be any decent players on free transfers, didn't have this problem in 2012. Anyway will plug on and see how high I can get this poor Barnet up.
 
Anyone come across the following issue:

When I load FM up it has like an orange haze over all the graphics. Not running any skins/graphics. I've tried changing the skin with no joy, refreshing the cache with no joy. Graphics drivers are up to date, no graphical issues in other games.

Can't find any information on the internet
