***** Official Football Manager 13 Thread *****

I'm about 2/3 through the season. My players are starting to get tired and performances are dropping.

Need to get them back on track as I've slipped from top spot in the league.

Should I drop all training to low? It stop it completely?

Any advice for this part of the season?

Keep it at average but switch your training to fitness and if you have the option tick both box's so they get a day off before and after games.

If you are limited on your funds in league 2 put all budget into wages and focus on signing free players. Scout them first with a decent scout in potential and sign ones 4 stars upwards or if desperate 3 stars.

4-2-3-1 has been great for me. Any team, any division. 2 decent defensive midfielders and a playmaker and your nearly there.

Using a 4-5-1 at the minute and having a decent start to the season. Managed to get Lukaku on loan which is excellent :p

Him and Elia on the break is rather fun to watch.

My players are always unhappy with the standard of the fitness training, i havent bothered touching the new training calender thing.

Am i doing something wrong?

This is something ive never come across, they have been unhappy that i have over worked them but thats when i forget to lower the intensity to average. On the calender try switching focus onto fitness and make sure you have a fitness coach or someone training strength and arobics.

So where can I find out when my new 3.2m stadium is complete? I could feel the discontent among the 869 fans at the last game that they only had 3 seats each!

well another season over.

finished top and got automatic promotion back into the blue square premier.

had a good run in the fa cup by getting to the 4th round then receiving city in the draw. i took the lead in that match and went 2-0 up but then got hammered 5-2 :( still, not bad for a BSBS team.

had a good chuckle at this last game of the season. the title was won so i fielded my backup players.

13 minute hatrick anyone? 6-0 up by 20 mins.

next goal is to avoid relegation and at a push get mid table in the BSBP.

still no transfer budget but i have a wage budget of 19.75k now, when i took over it started at 6k!

H&W are pretty easy to push into BSP straight off the bat to be honest.
Some of their base players (Taggart and Ramsey etc) are decent enough play makers.
I was able to do back to back promotion (Wish I hadn't), but their board is truly horrific.

You have a higher wage budget than I have, and I'm in Npower League 2 :p, they actually lowered mine from 16k to 14k from my first season in Npower League 2 to my second.

Managed to get a few decent defenders, all youngsters, but Yann Nsaku had most man of the matches last season, and 4th best form, and another defender I have had the best form throughout (although got less games)

Really wish I'd just consolidated BSBP though, as now I'm suffering for it, I've got a stadium being built etc, and I'm not sure how long I can stay in Npower League 2, had to loan out a fair chunk of my rotation players as I couldn't pay wages, then I had a few injury problems, and I've got no forwards :p

must have been a lucky choice of team then :p

i had no clue about them and went with them as they were one of 2 teams with a job available :p

ive managed to bag a liam henderson from celtic out of contract. rated at a league 2 player with league 1 potential. also picked up a couple of loaners. my squad is looking better 2n time round so hopefully i can stay up.

Im in the championship with Hednesford!!! back to back promotions from BSP, spent 3 season in the BSP though until i finally got out! got lucky in league one, last game of the season i was 3rd 1 point behind 2nd and 3 points behind top. I won they lost but i finished second because Rochdale has 1 more goal than me.

Now in the championship i'll admit ive have started using genie scout after it was mentioned here and that got me a few gems i otherwise wouldnt of found but it feels like cheating to me still... even though it took me an hour to find them which is more work than my scouts do!

hehe yeah I don't use it that much to be honest. I prefer using my own judgement and player form, although the hidden attributes can come in handy!

Check in the boardroom.

I have - and no news there. I'm starting in suspect they've taken the money and bought a villa in Spain. :p

Edit: Well that is strange. I was running in windowed mode and I noticed a few things would disappear when I shrunk the screen. So I've gone back to normal mode and it's appeared (in boardroom like you said). It can't be found anywhere else which is a bit daft.

Had an annoying glitch there.
I had two disallowed goals, one from a tackle, one from offside.
My third "goal" was fine, except it didn't show up on the score line, it wasn't disallowed, I can see it on the time line.

I got the 3 points for winning, but it got counted as a draw.
I reloaded it because that's stupid.

For whatever reason, the youth I took a plunge on 2 seasons ago is having the season of his life.

That is odd.
I've had an amazing fall from grace. Took the BSP by storm after promotion, unbeaten after 10 games (7/3/0) and top of the league. Then had a major injury crisis losing about 8 players. Struggled in the next 10 (3/2/5), dropped to 7th. Finally, got most of my players back but we can't seem to find form :(

If it's down to a lack of morale, organise a friendly against some real minnows for some one-sided goalfest fun when you've got a spare slot in your schedule.

In my experience, in FM a big win is a big win, irrespective of the opposition. A 10-0 scoreline where the team average rating is in the 8s is a real boost to morale, even if it's against no-mark opposition. Morale is crucial; I even think there's a case for it being the most important attribute for a player.

EDIT: Martini1991: Take your first-teamers out of reserve squad availability and let the grey placeholder players play the reserve matches? Or have I misinterpreted?
