Moving to Canada for 12 months - IEC Working Holiday Visa

I'm sure you've all answered this at some point, but is there anyone here heading out as soon as they get accepted? As in, sometime in the next 3 months?

Natalie and I will have ZERO friends in Vancouver, so it would be cool if there were some like minded people heading out soon to meet up with on a night out/pub lunch and drinks or something like that. Any of you going as a couple as well?

Emma and I have a lot of saving to do, so we'll be heading out this time next May-ish I imagine. So if we're in the same city we'll most likely be looking you up with exactly the same request!

I think I'm going to be going around August/September time... So not straight away unfortunately... Just want to make sure I've got everything in order before I leave everyone for year :p

Does anyone have their Canadian formated Resume they could trust me please? I'm sorting mine now and I'm reading through ( http://www.moving2canada.com/jobs-in-canada/write-a-resume/ ) but just want to make sure I'm doing it right.

Cheers :)

Ooo that's a good idea! If they wouldn't mind sending me a copy also via Trust I would be very grateful :)

Now I'm all paid up... What's the next stage? When can I expect to have confirmation that my payment is all good to go?

It took a day or so for my Payment to be Verified, (assuming you've sent them the screenshot of the payment confirmation screen?)

I paid tonight and I attached a PDF of the payment confirmation with all the details etc. Does the status change once they've confirmed they've received payment then?

I'll send you mine; it's not finished but the formatting is close enough. I've done 3 versions, one is a general one, one is for when I apply for retail jobs, and the other is for when I apply for bar/restaurant work.

Nick, could you send them my way as well please? Be very grateful!

Yes, it changes from "Submitted" to "Verified".

My Application status screen now looks like this:

Working as a Service Desk analyst for a IT company, there's always job going here!

You would need to apply at Robert Half Job agency then they will set you up here

What does your job entail and do you need any qualifications?

Thanks for the job agency will check em out when I arrive.

I currently do Help desk support for a huge gas station across Canada. I would imagine good enough IT qualifications are needed for IT help desk roles. however all of the job agency's goals are to hire as much people as possible so I think anyone will be fine.

However I wouldn't recommend it as its not really living the dream type job when you get a 1 or 2 years visa and come to Canada. Bar work or something else would be a much better job. You dont really want to tell people you went on this amazing adventure for a year or two and worked in a call center for the whole time, I am doing it because I am planning to stay here

I am also looking to stay and not looking at bar work / waiter type roles long term (maybe initially to get me settled) - I was a performance manager / capacity manager for LTSB for 6years so will probably look at some of the big banks in Toronto and see what happens I do have a degree in Comp Sci thoughwhich could give other options.

How reasonable is it to travel from Miss to Toronto; what are the costs / efficient methods?
