Moving to Canada for 12 months - IEC Working Holiday Visa

I am also looking to stay and not looking at bar work / waiter type roles long term (maybe initially to get me settled) - I was a performance manager / capacity manager for LTSB for 6years so will probably look at some of the big banks in Toronto and see what happens I do have a degree in Comp Sci thoughwhich could give other options.

How reasonable is it to travel from Miss to Toronto; what are the costs / efficient methods?

Travel was very easy and cheap. 3 main ways into the City from Mississauga

Subway line at Islington Station this is on the outskirts of Mississauga, still easy to get to by buses, its only like $1 and that gets to directly into the city
Go Train - high speed train which is around $3-5 its the best method I think and stops at all of the main towns towards Toronto and after it too! Check the website out for a Map.
Go Bus - same as above

Having a peek now, thanks a lot.

Also, I was in Toronto in November and went to Guu Izakaya (http://www.guu-izakaya.com/) - omg... AMAZING; anyone heading to Toronto go there. Not only was the food amazing the atmosphere was incredible too!

I got my letter now, but this part is confusing:

To begin Stage 2, please visit Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) and complete the “Come to Canada” questions. This will enable you to create your own MyCIC account, which is required to initiate your work permit application. Please note that Stage 2 is administered by CIC

I dont see the Come to Canada questions!?

On the MyCIC Stuff now and sorted everything except the digital photo, I dont have a passport picture handy to scan and my passport is a new one where the picture is kind of emdedded in with security markers so can't scan and crop that.

Scary - what did you do last year?

I used my phone to take a self picture and ran it through http://www.idphoto4you.com/ to crop it and line it up

Just not sure though! :/

Last year we just had to send in a photocopy of our passport (I had an old style one at the time) and passport photos from one of those machines. Can you get a new photo tomorrow and scan that?

Just done some research and for my Law degree to be valid in Canada I need an NCA which costs $450 CD not too bad considering. Can't wait to graduate and get everything sorted.

What's the deal with peoples employment while out there? Do you have jobs lined up? Lots of savings?

What type of jobs are you looking for, anything to scrape by or jobs within your field etc?

What's it like for recent graduates (engineering)?

Nothing lined up yet, my girlfriend and I are happy doing anything until we find something more long term. We should be ok to begin with as she is taking about £2.5k and I hope to have around £4.5k to take.

Another year another trip to Canada. Will be applying in the next round in a couple of days. Looks like the process has changed a lot since I last did it.

I was there from November 11 to April last year working in northern Alberta. Looking to go back to Vancouver this time though. Not sure when I'm going to be going over this time. Gotta get the visa first. :D
