UEFA Champions League/Europa League 19/20/21 February *** Spoilers ***

Keep seeing you and Baz call him that, he really aint. Zidane was a genius, Bergkamp was a genius, Suarez is just a good player. Calling Suarez a genius is like calling Tevez one :/
That's your opinion and one that isn't shared by most players (past and present), pundits, commentators and non bitter/jealous supporters :p

Definition of genius
noun (plural geniuses)

1 [mass noun] exceptional intellectual or creative power or other natural ability:
she was a teacher of genius
[in singular]:
that woman has a genius for organization

2 an exceptionally intelligent person or one with exceptional skill in a particular area of activity:
a mathematical genius

You missed off RVP ;)

That's what I'm getting at though I'd never class RVP as a genius, he's obviously one of the best strikers in the world (as is Suarez on current form) but he's not a footballing genius. Like I said Bergkamp was a genius, some of the goals he scored for example were goals very few players would even think of trying.

Watched the Liverpool game, it was entertaining, but lol Reina and lol Carragher.

We'd all be saying that De Gea wasn't good enough too if it was him making those mistakes.

Suarez being a dirty sod again, standing on the back of Lombaerts' achilles, then standing on Criscito's back when he was on the floor (and don't go saying these were accidental, because they definitely were not). I'm not sure how Liverpool fans can keep defending that type of behaviour. Gotta say though he had an awesome game and the free kicks (particularly the second one) were brilliant. So much wasted possession around the box though, seems to be typical of Liverpool these days. I think it's because of just having one striker on (Suarez) and him having to constantly come back to midfield to get on the ball. At least when Sturridge is on as well you know there'll be someone with decent movement in support to be in space and pick up the ball after Suarez skins someone.

Cant say I have heard of many players/ex-players or pundits call him a genius either but hey lets not the truth spoil any back slapping parties shall we.

tbf it does sound something like Redknapp would say, in-between talking about how he imagines him on the streets of Uruguay of course ;)

I know but Sky big up the world tiddlywinks championships on SkySports News in between yet another caption 'Exclusive' or 'Breaking News' from the crown green bowling over at the Sports Desk. They could big up the opening of an envelope with Jamie Redknapp really

Suarez is undoubtedly a fantastic player in a rich vein of form this season but a genius ???? Give me a ******* break

Depends what you consider a genius, in footballing terms anyway. He's second in the top scorer's list for the PL, and the only players in the major European leagues to have scored more than him are Messi, Ronaldo, Falcao, RVP and Ibrahimovic. I think all of those players would be considered modern-day footballing geniuses, so it's only fair to argue that Suarez is too in my opinion.
