Just be mindful of how you use it. It's expensive, but I find that recovery is nicely assisted by it, taken before bed.

You also sleep like a damn log, too. It's awesome.

I don't know how much awesome is involved if taken 90 minutes before a workout in terms of the GH/IGF released by it, so I don't know if it helps there.

Enjoy how bad it tastes. :D

I plan on being a pre-bed user only so was gonna aim for the 15g pre-bed the evenings after i workout.

You talk of sleeping like a log, does this affect your ability to wake up to an alarm, or was that still all ok?
 
Does anyone know where i can find buckwheat or anything that doesn't contain wheat etc? As MP for some reason discontinued their buckwheat and i need a replacement.

Nope - no sleeping through alarms, although I try for 7hrs+ of sleep, so I generally am not too bad with that.

No, I think I noticed the effect when my son woke up at 1am a few days ago and it felt like my head was full of treacle and didn't want to move (i.e. that deep sleep feels). Also noticed that - when pre-bedding with the stuff - I wake up at 5:25am ready to beat the **** out the barbell... which is unusual for me.

Go with 170mg/kgbw. So if you're at 70kg BW, you'd be on 12.1g of OAKG for the optimal (i.e. base d on the only research I can find) GH/IGF spike.

Be interested to hear how you get on with this. Considering some EAA's again, yes I've had them before and know how bad they taste! Why I got my capping kit :p
 
Just went with 13g for the first dose, splash of orange and little bit of water and knocked it back. Loved the taste, reminded me of really sour sweets which I love. Except for the cost I am going to enjoy this if is works.

Bennyc get on myprotein tonight the 250g bags are in the sale at £8.69. I brought 4 bags making 1kg cost only £3 more then mp's own 500g bag haha deal ;)

And if you don't like it you can always send it my way for the correct

Daft question alert.

If not taking a PWO shake after training, ie immediately after or in the first hour or so, is it worth still having the dextrose? I'm aware the carbs etc will need to be put elsewhere, I just wondering if the Dextrose had any real place if taking it later in the day (as just a standard whey+water shake)

No, if you want the carbs use a slower burning source.
The only time you really want to load yourself with simple sugars is immediately PWO unless you're on some new fangled CBL diet or some such.
At least that's how I've always understood it.

Currently I just end up eating my morning snack in after the gym rather than the whey+dextrose.

I'll have a ganders tonight. Don't mind spending a little if it'll last a considerable time but likewise don't want to be shelling out £30-40 a month unless I feel it's worth it.

Looks like I'd need a 15g dose @ 92KG, so 1KG would last just over 2 months or so. Not bad for £30 odd.

Just buy one bag and see what it's like.

Assuming the effect myself, LiE and Syla5 are seeing is real, it may well be a great way of recovering in the sleep post-workout.

Currently, I'd look at its effect as subjective at this point - as there is no control for this 'study' it's entirely down to opinion. :)

Put it this way: I've bought another two bags of the stuff.
