*** The 2013 Gym Rats Thread ***

What difference does your weight make when you're in the backs discussing boys and periods and your hair? :D

People mistake you for a grunt ;)

I used to play flanker to be fair. But I'm so quick and powerful, that as a back I was a secret weapon. Taking out forwards with my little finger was fun too - they were too dumb to realise and too slow to catch up...

This was largely how my rugby career went :p. Except that I was neither big nor heavy I was just strong, I was also the fastest guy on the team so my coach didn't really know what to do with me.

Basically, what I'm trying to say is that I am a ****ing badass. ;)

I miss rugby, I might go back to it when I get to uni but it will all depend on how powerlifting is going. I'm more likely to be able to do some cool things in powerlifting than I am in rugby, and lets be honest cool things are better than non-cool things :p.

Ultra-fast hockey player checking in.

I could never finish in hockey, but was technically not bad everywhere else, so the coach stuck me at left back to scare the hell out of all the pint sized wingers and forwards. Also played right wing where the team could hit the ball into the opposing half and I'd probably catch it...

Loved it. :D

I was put in goal in hockey and told to make myself big. I never really understood how to use the stick anyway :P I'm not doing much to dispel the myth of slow rugby forwards!

Workout was good for first hour or so, then small bout of hypo (possible BCAA pre related)

I can save you t e as I had a bit f this to start. It soon went when I increased carbs to 300g+ on the backloads. Also not sure on the BCAA'S, I have never used them, just straight coffee and no problems :)

I've nearly completed my first day for the prep for CBL, although like FF I'm not a hug fan of processed carbs. I do love doughnuts though :p

Got some coconut milk to have with my coffee in the morning for some MCT until I can get some coconut oil. I barely had any headache, just a tad pooped from not having my morning 100grams of oats.
Most likely due to me, never having much carbs anyway.

Should be interesting all right.

2/3 tub...

Dude. I'm gonig to tpye as sbeor as psosblie etc...

What happened to the other third

kd

The last third sends the body hpyerglycaemic, which makes the pancreas blurt out insulin faster than normal. This then sends the body catabolic within a short space of time.

As I don't need that right now, I didn't have it.

Just to jump in as a bit of a lurker here...

I find that rings are a massive compliment to weights. The strength/stability I have gained from using rings is pretty huge (relative to me at least) and I cannot recommend them enough.

They smash my core and bring in some serious strength. I started doing moves in isolation, such as dips, push ups, rows, pullups etc. Now I feel a bit more advanced, the best (or most fun) thing is to bring it all together into a longer move - i.e muscle up into a static hold for 5 seconds, 5 dips, drop down, round into a german hang for 5 seconds, back round into an 5 second L Sit and then 5 pullups if your feeling frisky. Do that 5 times and it ends up being quite a good workout....

While I am dialing up my weights at the moment, I will always keep one day a week on rings. If nothing else, swinging about like a monkey on rings is just plain good fun.
This guy gets it!

Used my Vibrams for the first time last night, loved them. Helped a lot for Deadlifts and Squats.

Managed to squat 77kg last night, the 5th rep felt like that's all i had left in the tank, but i thought 'sod it' and went for one more.

On another note, my OAKG comes today.
