EA can only get worse lmao.

I still find it hard to believe that they can get away with always on DRM and shutting servers off. (not just simcity, but most of the online games)

hideman, I seriously wouldnt bother though its just queue up and then it wont connect etc. all servers are saying full or busy at mo

Presumably when the UK servers go 'live' at midnight then a lot more 'space' will become available, and it should be easier (and quicker) to download whatever is initially required... or doesn't it work like that?

At least I have a nice sleeve from Game to admire in the meantime... one of the best 3D (holographic?) images I have ever seen... and the tin is nice too!

The cracking group Skidrow have already released a crack for SimCity. Does anyone with the game have the ability to crack their retail/digital version to see whether it bypasses the Always Online feature?

There are no UK servers its EU East & West 1 & 2 and at the mo they are full

* Fix for crash caused most commonly occurring on servers experiencing lag. This crash would happen most often when claiming a new city when playing in a region.
* Fix for server select dialog not appearing on start-up if the server the player was last on is not available.
* Disabled Cheetah speed. Cheetah speed is is now the same as llama speed.
* Crash fix for finding closest points.
* Crash fixes in transport and pedestrian code.
* A fix cities having processing problems associated with helicopters.

I have read none of this thread, no reviews, nothing on the official site.

I have played a couple of hours so far and I think the game is great.

I have no idea why they have disabled Cheeta Speed.
I'm past the point of being angry, im just laughing now.

Also, Only server open for me is Oceanic, even though it wont load up.

If you reboot, are you finding you then have to VPN again to be allowed to play?

pre-loaded non vpn - purchased from Origin :mad:

switched vpn on to allocate me a euro IP
This allowed me to run the simcity executable that the preload created.
downloaded the game update didn't take too long
server selection screen all showing full with exception of one server oceanic showing available in green fonts.
selected the available server - presented with could not login into simcity due to a network error.

guess i'm going to have to wait till 00:01 - not building my hopes up though.
